Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
Taylor has worked with longarm quilting machines since 1993 and currently teaches longarm quilting techniques from her home studio as well as operating a quilting machine business (Linda's Electric Quilters). She defines the longarm quilting machine as "an industrial machine with an inside throat measurement of 15" or longer, usually on a table 12'-14' long to accommodate a king-size quilt or bedspread." Obviously, not every quilter has a 14' quilting machine set up in the family room, but many are interested in longarm quilting either because they are thinking of setting up a home business or because they wish to hire the services of a longarm quilter to quilt their tops. This comprehensive guide covers all aspects of working with a longarm machine, including choosing the machine, setting it up, quilting techniques (using both pantographs and freehand quilting), custom quilting, and establishing a quilting business. In addition there is a full-color gallery of machine-quilted quilts and a collection of reproducible designs. Highly recommended for large public libraries and textile collections where demand warrants. Copyright 2003 Reed Business Information.

    Absolutely priceless information

I found Linda's book to help me immensely since I bought my first longarm quilting machine. The info about starting a business in longarm quilting was absolutely priceless. Suggestions about pricing and real pictures showing different designs and options for quilting. We need more from Linda Taylor.
