Drama Is Her Middle Name

Imagine this...your best friend asks you to do her a favor. Simple enough, right? Your friend wants you to befriend a certain man. He's fine so no problem with that. Here's the kicker - you are to make this man fall in love with you and then...dump him! Why? Because this man did your friend dirty. But what happens when you find yourself falling for him?

Imagine this...you've met her, as in the one. She's the woman that makes you want to give up your doggish ways. She's got you ready to consider the dreaded - monogamy. Now imagine this, she's the best friend of a woman that you did the unthinkable to, but it's obvious that the woman of your dreams doesn't know. Do you just hope and pray that your past isn't brought to light?

Meet Nitrah and Troyon. It's gone beyond imagination to reality. And the reality is they both have secrets they don't want the other to discover. Add to the already volatile mix opinionated friends, lies, love and lust and you have "The Ultimate No No."

In her readable, sometimes surprising story, Tamika Newhouse examines the lives of two cliques of friends coming to terms with maturity and love. Newhouse knows one thing - drama! I really liked that her characters were practical and relatable. They fell in love a little too quickly for my taste, but to each, its own.

"The Ultimate No No," a captivating snapshot of emotional struggles, packs a lot. But it shows no sign of an editor. While I do wish that the story had been wrapped up completely, with no need for a sequel, Newhouse's debut can hold its own. I look forward to more from this talent.

I liked the story. I just hated that the folks in the book were so childish. Then, I had to remind myself that they were in their early 20s..some of the foolishness in the book was just that...FOOLISHNESS! I think I'm mad with myself for being so into it...because NOW, I HAVE to read the next one! I like drama filled books but this was a little much for me...Some things I never saw coming...well..most of it I never saw coming! Good story...so now, I'm putting the next one in line to be read!

I really enjoy this series. The story was made very visual, and for a moment it seemed as if your were right there as each character told their part of the story. Definitely a page turner...all 3 books. I am very curious to see what Tamika comes up with for the 4th book. I'm super excited.
I would recommend this series to those who like a storyline that has MANY twist and turns (that darn Troy!) it will leave you guessing and shaking your head at the same time. Tamika thanks for sharing your wonderful talent. Enjoy guys!

    Not worth the hype

I purchased this book based upong past reviews and I was disappointed. I tried to start the book several times and kept stopping to find some parts that would grab my attention. After I remembered what I paid for it I decided that I didn't want my money to be totally wasted so I tried to finish it. This was like an episode of Jerry Springer- it is hard to believe grown, educated folk are entertaining all the bull that went on in this book. If that is your cup of tea, more power to you. If stimulating characters and situations is what you are looking for- please seek it elsewhere!

Don't do the Ultimate No No...leave well enough alone!!!

Tamika Newhouse penned a drama story that many of us see daily. It's the story of tested friendships, devotion, adoration, lust, deception, trust and mounds of secrets. The combination of those characteristics leave room for nothing but a big ole' pot of disaster soup. Someone once said there is a thin line between love and lust ask Troy, Nitrah, Dahlia, Jazzaray, Charmaine who entangle themselves in this nasty web of deceit. Rule #1 in the Ladies Book state that you should never "deal" with your girlfriends current or past men. For whatever the reason may be, if broken you risk losing a friendship or simply not finding true love.

Tamika Newhouse has done an awesome job painting a very realistic picture of what can happen when you don't think before you act. Feelings get involved, emotions surface and it becomes harder to break away. This book allows you to be drawn in and captivated by the characters, some you pity, some you love, and some you would love to hate as they draw you into their bona fide lives. I found myself saying "OMG" and "lord what else" throughout the entire book as the snowball was getting bigger and bigger. Overall, Mrs. Newhouse did a good job with her debut novel, however in the future additional time should be spent on editing although it did not really take away form the storyline. This is definitely a page turner filled with lots and lots of drama and I humbly await the sequel-The Ultimate Moment: No Regrets.

    The Ultimate No No Delivers

Betrayal, families torn apart, friendships tested. The Ultimate No, No has all of this to offer and more. Author Tamika Newhouse has done an incredible job of penning a relatable, drama filled story.

You¿ll cry with, root for, sympathize with, and understand her characters. There¿s enough drama, romance, and comedy to keep you entertained. The reader has lots of surprises in store.

I give it four and a half out of five kisses.

    The Price of Love

Drama, lies, and revenge¿oh my! It¿s what fills Tamika Newhouse¿s recently released novel The Ultimate No No.

In an attempt to get even, Nitrah, with the help of her more than willing girlfriends, devise a plan called ¿The Scam.¿ It seems harmful enough, at least for the players. The mission is to get Troy. Trap Troy. Then crush his heart. If only the best laid plans went so well.

What I appreciated about Tamika¿s writing is her knack for creating memorable characters that I felt were friends of my own. Each person had his or her own distinct style and issues that made him or her believable. Between the club fights, tears, and pain Tamika was able to include social issues such as prejudice in The Ultimate No No. She also purposely strayed from creating the typical book characters. To add to her credit as an author Tamika did not disappoint with the ending of her book. She kept it real by abandoning the fairytale, which I am sure will be the debate between readers everywhere.

So, when it comes to love what is The Ultimate No No? The only way to find out is to get a copy of this book!

Tifany Jones
Founder and Radio Show Host
Sistah Confessions Book Club

    I Also Recommend:

    BUY THIS BOOK!!!!

" In my line of work I read several books a year and I can honestly say this is the best book I have read all year, including what I read personally. The characters kind of have a new millennium "Waiting to Exhale Feeling" but with more drama and suspense. I became lost in the story and I would love to see a sequel to find out what happens next. This is a must read for 2009!"

Mittie Stephens
Business Support by Mittie
http://businesssupportbymittie.net
