Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble
Become a master rocketeer! Packaged in a dynamic case that opens to reveal the actual components and pictures of everything found inside, this ultimate kit contains the items kids need to build and launch their own rockets. The kit contains materials to build four different rockets -- a space probe, space shuttle, space capsule, and space station -- with all the necessary items to make it a roaring success: a launch pad tower, ruler, foam cylinders, a pump, stickers, double-sided tape, and more. To make the building simple, the kit also includes detailed instruction cards, while a training manual teaches budding scientists about space and different challenges, letting them also record their own results in the space provided. With so much to do in one kit, this should prove to be a total blast for kids of all ages!

The decorative box is the only exciting part.

The box would have you believe that there's an exciting voyage to rocket science inside. That's not the case. Not even close. My 10 year old could not have been more dissapointed. No voyage, no excitement. Instead of paper airplanes, it's a paper rocket kit -- that's it. And not only do the rockets not 'take off into space' as implied, the little air pump that comes with it only shoots it up maybe 12 inches or so, if you're lucky. What a flop! I'm glad we opened it on Christmas eve so that we could get over the dissapointment in time for Christmas Day.
