    Hated the first book

Book number 1- i thought the first book was horrible. I couldnt even finish it. First off, christy, the main female character got on my nerves. She just put up with kyle, the main male character, treating her like garbage throughout the 3/4 of book that i read. I thought this book was supposed to be a romance book, but it was more of an action book with sex in it. And it kills me when authors make their characters "fall in love" after 3 dates. Just did not like the first book at all.

A FANTASTIC collection from Sharon Hamilton which contains books 1-4 and 2 novellas from her SEAL Brotherhood series.

For this team of Navy SEALs, their dedication goes beyond that of their country ~ it extends to those they love and to each other.

If you like your romance filled with HOT Navy SEALS, this is definitely the collection for you!!

Probably the most stilted books I've ever attempted to read...

I tried to like these books, I really did. I'm not a prude. I enjoy books with sex in them, but these books were awful. The writing was stilted, awkward and disjointed. The sex scenes were comical in their staging and description. The books were an excuse to write sex scenes, NOT books with action and adventure where the sex between the hero and heroine happened naturally during the course of the story. The hero and heroine were having unprotected sex within hours of meeting (eventually condoms were an afterthought - sometimes). The sex scenes were overly graphic, overly repetitive and poorly written. Have I said the writing was stilted? I can't say it enough. I cringed as I was reading. People just don't talk like that and if they do, well I wouldn't stay with him if he did. And, this was supposed to be a book about SEALS. I've read other books about that community from other authors and was thoroughly impressed, thrilled and entertained. Not so with this series. The action that was "SEAL related" was rushed and incomplete. It felt like an afterthought.

Needless to say I was very disappointed and can, in no way, recommend these books.

    Lots of hunk

This under romance the author had a chance of giving us ladies the details on the weddings. Our big day but they were all one liners in the book. Sex is good but romance is not all under the covers.

Nauseated! This author ought to be ashamed of herself.

The first story in this series (not the prequel, but the first book) has the male and female protagonists meeting when the female lead goes to what she believes is an open house. The male lead is meditating on the bed naked and aroused, and she tries to leave without him noticing her presence, but he attacks her (thinking she is an intruder). That is not my problem.

My issue is when as he rips off her clothes and ties her up with them and she believes she is about to be raped and murdered, she STOPS TO MUSE ABOUT HOW HANDSOME HE IS AND HOW HIS BODY FEELS GOOD AGAINST HERS. I personally don't care how good-looking a man is, if I think I am about to be raped and killed, I'll see him as the most repulsive person alive.

When he finally lets her go, she goes home to TAKE A BUBBLE BATH and CONTINUES TO THINK ABOUT HOW HANDSOME HE WAS AND WONDERS WHAT KISSING HIM WOULD BE LIKE.

The next day, she is furious at her colleague who sent her to the house, but when the would-be rapist shows up at her job with flowers, she not only fails to call the police, but she agrees to go out to lunch with him and gets in his car to let him drive her to the restaurant.

Clearly, this author has been never been raped (thank God, because I would never wish that on anyone). But because she has never been the victim of sexual assault, she may not realize that a REAL WOMAN would not stop in the middle of an attack to think about how good-looking the man about to possibly rape and murder her is. She would NOT fail to call the police when he showed up at her workplace. She would not agree to have a meal with him, and she would not get into a vehicle with him and let him take her anywhere he wants.

I love romance novels and military romance. I come from a family of veterans of every branch of the military. I am a sexual-assault survivor. I honestly believe that Sharon Hamilton did not realize what she was doing when she wrote this, but I am angry no one noticed the implausibility of the characters' meeting during the publication and marketing process. I may read the rest of the book eventually, if I can get over my disgust, but after the first few pages, I probably won't. Wish I hadn't wasted the money.

As far as I am concerned, what I saw reads like a rape fantasy, which is fine for your private life (I guess), but don't put it down on paper and ask people for money to read it.

    good story, but...

Hamilton creates some interesting scenarios with the conflicts between characters and she offers some insight to the sacrifices our military give to defend this country. However, she also gives her characters the morals of alley cats - not taking time to build relationships before they jump into bed. I find I often skip pages of their detailed rendez-vous in order to get to the meat of the story. The sex doesn't always sell it Ms. Hamilton.

The story lines were ok, but could have been better. I would have preferred the author concentrate more on story content instead of pages upon pages of very descriptive sex. I will not purchase any more of her books.

    Unlucky in Kentucky

I don't recall what i paid for this collection, but it is incredibly poorly written and in dire need of a proofreader. The story was disjointed. The plot is pretty well nonexistent and the spelling and grammar a joke.
