Overview

Master the essential building blocks of Spanish-language fluency with facilidad

The Ultimate Spanish Verb Review and Practice offers you an exciting new way to gain the confidence and skills you need to take the next big step on the road to Spanish fluency. More than just another Spanish verb guide, it provides you with a concise review of verb forms and extensive practice in tense usage. You are then encouraged to apply your knowledge of verb forms to sentence construction.

As you work through a series of increasingly more demanding exercises, you'll quickly build your mastery of the Spanish sentence--from simple subject-plus-verb sentences, to more sophisticated ones, including conditional and compound sentences. Also, by continually comparing and contrasting Spanish and English verb tenses and sentence structures, the authors further demystify the conventions of Spanish sentence construction.

The ideal resource for experienced beginners through advanced learners of Spanish, The Ultimate Spanish Verb Review and Practice gives you:

  • Numerous examples of how Spanish verbs and sentence structures work in everyday language

  • Exercises in a variety of formats, including sentence completion, sentence building, dialogue writing, translation, verb-form replacement, and more

  • Hundreds of verbs listed in both structural and semantic groupings

  • Up-to-the-minute coverage of contemporary Spanish, including computer and technology verbs

  • Dozens of clear, concise, at-a-glance charts and tables

    A reviewer

I¿m a big fan of this author, Ronni L Gordon, and also own The Ultimate Spanish Review and Practice. I bought The Ultimate Spanish Verb Review and Practice as an addition to my growing library of foreign language resources and am very pleased with it. The layout of this book is very smart, building on previous material in a manner that makes your progress almost unnoticeable until after the fact. Inside you¿ll find useful and easily understood explanations for verb conjugation and usage along with practice exercises for sharpening your skills. It also has tips on the 18 most commonly used sentence models. Cool! The exercises have one advantage over a lot of other Spanish teaching materials in that they are varied in focus in order to provide you with a broad cross section of knowledge. For instance, one exercise might concentrate on writing a dialogue while another asks you to replace a verb form. I do think that this is more of an intermediate level resource than a book for beginners. I recommend beginning with Learning Spanish Like Crazy for a comprehensive and systematic approach to learning to speak Spanish along with 501 Spanish Verbs ¿ my two top recommendations!

    Excellent

This is by far one of the most useful books that I have ever used during all of my years of studying Spanish. It treats each grammatical concept thoroughly with many examples to write out and practice the verb concepts that are introduced. The explanations make sense and the examples are well chosen. It is groundbreaking in its integration of vocabulary related to the use of the computer. I would only recommend this book to students of Spanish who are serious about learning the language. One could easily devote an entire semester to using this book to master the meaning, form and usage of Spanish verbs. Strongly recommend.
