Ultimate Unofficial Guide to the Mysteries of Harry Potter

As much as I love J.K. Rowlings "Harry Potter" Books, This one particular book has made me appreciate her writing even more than before. There has been such a discussion of how and why she wrote so many of her character and plot twists that I was truly amazed by her ability. I love it. J.K. has a huge talent for putting little clues throught all the books without you even knowing it and this book brings out so many of those clues and other ideas for you to think about when you re-read her books. Lots to think about. A great read and one that is very hard to put down.

    Good Review of Book 4

This is a good book by author Galadriel Waters of the first four books in the series. If you need a review of books 1 to 4, this book will help. After reading Water's general guide, I personally liked reading the new ULTIMATE UNOFFICIAL HARRY POTTER TRIVIA HALF-BLOOD PRINCE BOOK 6 TRIVIA BOOK by author Daniel Lawrence since it covered all six books in the JKR series and served as a great refresher to reading HBP Book 6. I suggest to HP fans to read this guide for an overview and then immediately read the UNOFFICIAL HARRY POTTER HBP TRIVIA BOOK by Daniel Lawrence to get a more detailed insight into JKR.

    Messes with your head

This book is very useful. I got it from the library about 2 days before book six was due to come out. It helped me a lot. I can¿t believe I missed all of those things. Anyway some of things they were suspicious about actually happened in later books. SO you should read this book!

    Perkins Groupie!

After i got this book, the first thing I did was call a bunch of my friends that enjoyed Harry Potter, and even those who didn't know a thing about it and held a conference over what the book explained. We all debated for hours over pots of coffee and never ending soda pop drinks, leaving each night it happened with new ideas of what would happen. I even converted some of the anti-Harry Potter people into being hooked and now they won't stop asking to borrow my books I have. Haha. What can I say? This is an awesome book, it does help get your mind set on the tasks before you and will keep you guessing and coming up with your own theories. I highly recommend it!

    Good Companion Book

Author Galdriel Waters has done a good job with her Book 5 Analysis Guide. Be advised that this book covers only Books 1 to 5, and NOT Book 6 of the series. I consider author Galadriel Waters along with author Daniel Lawrence of the ULTIMATE UNOFFICIAL HALF-BLOOD PRINCE BOOK 6 TRIVIA BOOK to be the two best resources for HP fans and each author has their strong points. Waters discusses character development and concentrates her guide on numerous possible theories concerning HP subplots. Author Daniel Lawrence is known by legions of fans as an expert on actual HP insights, facts and little-known JKR doctrine. My suggestion to HP fans is to first read this guide by author Waters to fully grasp books 1-5 and then immediately read the ULTIMATE UINOFFICIAL HARRY POTTER HALF-BLOOD PRINCE BOOK 6 TRIVIA BOOK by Daniel Lawrence to discover the subtle clues and mysteries found inside Book 6.

Great book for any bored Harry Potter nut!

This is a great book! It gives you every single scrap of clues that can be found. It helps you guess the future of the Harry Potter books. My warning: You must be really, really dedicated to Harry Potter, because if you think 'It's a pretty good book', the UUGTTMOHP (Ultimate Unofficial Guide to the Mysteries of Harry Potter), would be considerd 'boring' to you most likely. But since I'm dedicated, it's NOT dull, and a great book!

Don't Think You've Read Harry Potter Until You've Read This!

I originally got this title as a gift, and it's made reading Harry Potter more enjoyable with each read. You learn to spot things JK Rowling wants us to see, and what she's teasing us with. A wonderful way to start up new debates with HP friends.

The best unnoffical Harry Potter book

This is absolutely my favorite Harry Potter companion book. It's filled with clues theories and all things you missed the first, second and third time you read the books. Definitely a must have for a true HP fan.

    Ehhh...

Before I begin, I am a dedicated Harry Potter fan and I absolutely love The Boy Who Lived (though not necessarily Daniel Radcliffe, The Boy Who Cannot Act). Yet I found this book rather disappointing. Sure, some of the theories they wrote are intriguing and got me nodding my head in agreement, but some of them... well, don't they seem a bit TOO farfetched?<p>I realize I haven't read the whole book, but halfway through I was so annoyed with all their theories about so many little things in the book that I stopped reading it. Most of the things they came up with are much like that of 'Mark Evans.'<p>However, if you can put up with these and focus on some of the good stuff, then this book is a nice read. I just hope they don't take some things too seriously in the remaining books.<p>And what's with the names? Mithrandir? Galadriel? Shouldn't they write something about LOTR instead? Or do they lack so much imagination that they have to steal from a book for their pen names?

    unable to put it down

This is a great book. Any true Harry Potter fan who likes to think the books over will enjoy this book very much. After reading it I realized just how much J.K.R. gives away about the story line and we don't even see it coming. Just as good as the books themselves.

    It's Great!

My brother and I just bought this book and the one for the 5th HP book. Let me say it is amazing all the little clues and hints it picked up. Now little things will pop into my head and I'll be like,'Is that a clue?' The only thing that dissapointed me was the James/Lupin theory. When it continued into the next book I was kind of annoyed. JKR said on her website that it was an editing mistake to have James before Lily in the 4th book, so a switching spell isn't the case. I think if the writers checked out JKR's website, they could make the books even better. Like for the family tree of how the Weasleys & Blacks r related they would know Molly's maiden name was Prewett. But I think the Mr.&Mrs. Evans are squibs theory was cool. It made perfect sense. I wish there has been an index, cuz it would crtainly help in all the searching I'm doing!

    Impressed

Usually I hate the books that write on other books...however I must say that this book was interesting to read, and even if its predictions do not come true it still gives some great ideas. A must have for the avid fan fiction writer/reader.

An interesting and in depth analysis

I found this book very interesting and liked it very much. The background info on names, in specific, was wonderful. It opens up a whole new world of ideas for me as to what will happen in the next few books and gives interesting insights as to particular characters' actions. The book is actually rather accurate most of the time (I read it after I read OotP). Some fascinating septology clues are pointed out that I never would have found on my own, like references to other works that JKR might parallel. There were some things I didn't like. For example, parts of the Restricted Section in the back. I found it a bit far-fetched, though, certainly, what they say is possible. Then there's some things I thought that the solution/answer was obvious to, yet they couldn't figure it out. Overall, though, it was a fun book to read and was very insightful.

    WOW!!!

This is a great book!!! I found out tons of things that I never had even thought of!!! Even though it's long, I had a great time reading it!!! I would stongly suggest to those of you who are reading this and are going to read this book, to write down some good things you found and the page number it's on. I find it's very helpful when I'm rereading the actual books, because then I can look for clues related to the cool things I found. Overall, awesome book!!!
