Ultimatum based on 0 ratings. 3 reviews.
I didn't really like the "Ultimate" comics too much, but Ultimatum was a surprise. Just a twisted version of how things can go wrong. Basically, don't piss off the Master of Magnetism, Magneto. Heroes unite to fight against Evil and some wicked weather. Favorite Part: The random deaths
David Finch's artwork is phenominal as always. Loeb on the other hand is good for writing retro tales. I admit that Batman:Hush story-arc was great. His strength is writing ensemble pieces that push the characters to the limits. However he really jumped the shark here. Just killing a bunch of characters in the Ultimate MU is not great writing. He writes great mindless action around a feeble plot at BEST. His dialogue is pretty crummy and for the most part has made everyone---heroes included---very UN-likable. Since he took over the Ultimates he has made them disposable and 1-dimensional characters and ruined what Millar established with two EPIC runs. Basically it had great potential but fell so far short.
I really liked the ultimate series to start fresh new origins new teams. Ultimate X-men was really good then kinda dropped of for a little bit then just ended really on the week side. I can't see the Ultimate X-men continuing with the characters that died in this book, may be just Spiderman and the Ultimate Avengers. That is it.
