Steve Gillman has been an avid ultralight backpacker for many years. He sometimes hikes into the mountains of Colorado for overnight trips with no more than nine pounds on his back.     Fun to read. Full of good stuff for a beginner!

    Too much filler

    I enjoyed the book overall. Lots of good basic information and ideas that easily generated new ideas. Did not like the chaper reviews at the end of each chapter too repetitive. Reads like a text book and needs to be thined.
