Library Journal
When anglers decide to try a more challenging alternative to fishing with the popular spinning rod and reel, they usually opt for flyfishing or ultralight spin-fishing. The latter, which uses downsized spinning gear, lacks the cachet of flyfishing, but its coterie of enthusiasts is growing as more fishers discover the thrill of catching big fish on small equipment. Much finesse is required to reel in, for instance, a leaping 16-pound salmon using a lightweight rod and a six-pound test line. Cammann (Fishing Vermont's Streams and Lakes, Countryman, 1992) clearly explains in text and pictures the tackle and techniques that will enable anglers to succeed in their quest for fish ranging from bass to barracuda.
