After a brief look at sonography fundamentals and business implications, the authors outline numerous common clinical scenarios that sonography can help address, and then finish by walking the readers through several ultrasound-guided procedures. The book provides an array of helpful clinical questions, patient vignettes, ultrasound images and videos (ebook only), as well as clinical practice algorithms, making integration of ultrasound skills into practice actionable and intuitive.
Purpose: A timely endeavor, this book aims to equip primary care providers to utilize the increasingly coveted skill set of point-of-care ultrasonography (POCUS), thereby providing more efficient, high-quality, patient-centered, and cost-effective care to their patients. As ultrasound has become remarkably accessible, patients and providers alike increasingly demand this sort of education.
