Overview

Previously known for his well-crafted combination of Jamaican reggae, electric funk, and tropical music, on his fifth full-length record Argentinean singer/songwriter Diego Torres mostly comprises different traditional Latin rhythms in a contemporary style. Co-produced by Kike Santander and Cachorro López, this 13-track album was recorded in Buenos Aires, Madrid, Miami, and Milan. Un Mundo Diferente (A Different World) features the hit singles "Color Esperanza" and "Sueños," the flamenco-inflected "Una Gotita de Amor," a bolero-stylized "Conmigo Siempre," the Spanish rhumba "Que No Me Pierda," and an orchestrated Latin pop song titled "Perdidos En La Noche." In addition, Diego Torres brings the sophisti-pop "Quisiera" and "A Traves del Tiempo."

The song ''Color Esperanza'' is truly incredible. I've heard it's been used in Argentina to boost the morale of the people there, since they're coping with too many difficulties. Here in Venezuela it's become a sort of anthem for the National Soccer Team, in an effort to give the Venezuelans hope for the 2006 World Cup.
