Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
Successful authors may never run out of ideas if they can resurrect dead villains and begin anew. Luckily, MacAlister's latest offering, the second in her Light Dragon series, rewards readers with the banter and mishaps common when heroines, like Ysolde de Bouchier, must deal with stubborn dragons like her husband, Baltic.Reunited despite their deaths, Ysolde turns her attention to determining why the First Dragon brought her back to life, as well as the task she must uncover and complete to bring peace to the different dragon sects. For irregular series readers, the motivation to fulfill the quest set forth by the First Dragon may seem murky, particularly the scenes meant to be part illusion. However, this can be overlooked in favor of enjoying Ysolde's awkward attempts to control her wonky magic, which make for laugh-out-loud moments. As always, Jim, the demon, and MacAlister's familiar dragons from previous outings are a welcome addition to the farce. an entertaining though not an easy read

The First Dragon assigns recently resurrected, as part of the human Tully Sullivan, Ysolde Bouchier with a task, but she does not understand what her mission is as her dragon memory did not return with her new life. Her Black Dragon spouse Baltic offers little help or empathy while his guard Thala loathes Ysolde. Thus not gaining much from the wyr, Ysolde turns to her friends May and Aisling for their assistance.

Her mission proves convoluted as she tries to persuade her husband to meet with peers who want him dead while she investigates his murder rap. Ysolde also tries to meet Constantine the shade who everyone (her dreams too) informs her he killed her. Besides that there is learning as Tully needs to know how to be Ysolde the dragon.

This is a complicated convoluted fantasy that is difficult to follow (and impossible for newcomers) as much of the dangling threads from previous tales including other miniseries in the MacAlister universe begin to see the light and converge. Fans of the saga will believe it is worth the time as the second Light Dragon tale (see Love in the Time of Dragons) is an entertaining though not an easy read.

A great sequel to the the first book in the series.  If you read

A great sequel to the the first book in the series.  If you read the first book you have to continue and read the second. Baltic and Ysolde are quite the pair and their past lives make their back stories ever the more interesting. :))

    Must read!

Gotta love a hot dragon book! Well written. Another reason why Katie MacAlister is one of my favorite authors! Great characters, deepens the plots started in the first book. Could not put it down.

    Fun and Funny to Read

This book is sooo good and so humerous I could't stop laughing. The one good thing about this book is that the twist and turn are so interesting but the humor tops it off. I love the dragon series but this one has got to be the most funniest.

    Must Read! Highly Recommended!

Loved the story! Katie knows how to keep you reading and not want to put the book down. I can't wait until the next book comes out...Hopefully won't have to wait to long. I downloaded it on my NOOK and would have had it read in one day if I didn't have to go to to work.
