    Ugh

For once I would like for an alpha male to end up with a normal girl, or at least one with common sense or a little intelligence. Now that might make for a good read. This book was horribly predictable: alpha male meet dimwitted female who not only acts childish, but her behavior puts he in danger, she gets her ask beat by some psycho for her stupidity, alpha male saves girl, love and happy ever after. Save your money, there is nothing original here.

By the way this book was nothing compared to katie ashley's books, more like a bad rip-off!

Did they ever find out who Lexi's attacker was? I feel like that wasn't answered, or did I miss it?

I thought Lexi was annoyingly stupid. For one who's been abused and supposedly scared of her ex and how that made her not to trust so easily, she sure has a way of showing it... or NOT. She easily befriends a guy who she just met, complete with kisses and stuff like that.

When it came to the part where she was missing her stuff, even I knew who the culprit is. Lukas was a cop, you'd think he'll figure it out that the number one suspect is the one who easily came in and out of Lexi's house.

I was really so annoyed with Lexi when she insisted on doing her errands, even after being advised not to go out. Like what I said, for someone who claimed to be scared and had a bad feeling, she sure didn't act like one. What was so important about getting her errands done that she couldn't wait until someone was with her. Ugh! I was so annoyed to the point of thinking that she deserved what she got herself into. She wouldn't have been in that situation if she used her brains.

The story's okay, I guess. Annoying heroine; and I'm still wondering who her attacker was.

I am usually not a fan of super sappy romantic books, but this one was really good. I enjoyed the suspenseful side of it as well. It wasn't one of those "boy meets girl and they fall madly in love", it was complicated, messy, and addicting to read! I really recommend this book to anyone looking for an easy and entertaining summer read!

    Has its moments

Lexie is dumb and NOT exactly mother-of-the-year. I do not mean the abuse she endured. I mean allowing people into her child's life without forethought. Lukas is certainly swoon-worthy, a little too pushy but definitely hero material. Just a little bit TOO influenced by Lexie's "hotness" but he's a guy, enough said. She comes across as sweet but dim.

Amazing story of life after an abusive relationship, living with, surviving through, and getting away from the physical and mental abuse then dealing with the emotional scars long after...this book is about finding new love and the not so pretty side to damaged and broken love.

    *3.5 Stars*
I knew going into reading this book that it might be a little difficult at times because of the subject matter. It was definitely an emotional ride. Ms. Grayson has written a compelling story in Unbeautifully Loved.

Lexie Todd became involved with Dex, her abusive ex, when she was young and naive. Once the real Dex began surfacing, Lexie was believing the verbal abuse and enduring the physical. She believes she is damaged goods and unworthy of love. Although Dex didn't really seem to want her, he didn't want anyone else having her either. After a particularly vicious attack, she decides to run.

Now Lexie, her son, Finn, and her best friend, Mollie are on the run. They're settling into their sixth location in eight months. Despite their circumstances, Mollie has a good feeling about this particular town. So despite her qualms, Lexie agrees to give this place a try.

Lukas Gunn, now a neighbor to the fugitives, has an immediate attraction to Lexie. Lukas is HOT, very alpha male and realizes something is amiss with Lexie, so wants to save her. (*Note - Lukas can be my knight in shining armor anytime! ;)

Mollie is an incredibly loyal friend to Lexie. She basically gives up her life in order to help her friend. She also provides some comic relief in the story. She's quite sassy and fun.

Unbeautifully Loved is not only a suspenseful story of a young woman trying to move on from her past and brokenness but also a tender tale of finding real love. It also reveals the unlimited lengths to which true friends will go in order to protect someone they care about.

Unbeautifully Loved did have a few flaws. There were some editing issues, such as incorrect word choice. But as I got into the story I found I could overlook them. I also felt there were inconsistencies in the character development of Lexie. She didn't always seem to be the broken, fragile, young woman she was portrayed to be. This might have been intentional as a way to show Lexie's inner strength, I can't say for sure. It just confused me at times. I also thought Finn could have been more well defined.

Despite it's flaws, I still enjoyed Unbeautifully Loved. I wanted all my questions answered. I wanted to know the outcome for Lexie and Lukas. I will absolutely be reading the next in Ms. Grayson's Breathe Again series.
