Jessica Harper is the epitome of perfection. She’s a good daughter, makes excellent grades, and always strays on the safe side of life. The last thing she thought would ever happen was falling in love with her best friend’s brother. But sometimes fate just has a way of bringing two people together.

Wide receiver for the University of Arizona, Gabe Garcia, seems to have it all. When his feelings for Jessica come to surface, Gabe will give up everything to be with her.

But what happens when a tragedy abruptly changes the course of your life? For Jessica and Gabe, everything they thought they knew about each other will be questioned. Sometimes, there are scars in life that are cut too deep to completely heal.

Will their love prove to be unbreakable, or will it shatter and prove fate is just another lie?

I love this book.  I was drawn in from begging to end, with a little heartbreak in the middle. Honestly wasn't sure I would like it figuring it would all be typical and predicable but it is easily on my list of favorites.

    Good read

It will rip your heart out, chew it up, spit it out, patch it up with some bandaids and shove it back in your chest. I'm ready for the next story.

Wow - what a journey that Jessica has to travel in Unbreakable! This story started out very sweet, moved along at a very good pace, and really had me falling in love with Jessica and Gabe.

I KNEW. I JUST KNEW from the synopsis that something terrible would happen so I was constantly on the edge of my seat. Then BAM! It hits and it was awful! How can Jessica and Gabe recover? It was a very tough thing to navigate through and I really liked how Rebecca Shea handled the situation. It was real and painful and exactly how I might expect it to play out.

As Jessica and Gabe are trying to recover, enter a new character and I was again wondering how Jess and Gabe might get their HEA or were they really not meant to? At first I didn't like the new character but Rebecca did a fabulous job of turning that around making me wonder how exactly would this story end.

I felt the pace was perfect and the characters strong. Rebecca Shea was able to get into the characters' heads and tell their story from multiple POVs that had distinct voices. If anything, I felt I needed a little more in the middle of the story and with Jessica's experience to fully connect with her struggles.

Overall, I definitely enjoyed following Jessica and Gabe through their journey. Beautiful story with a message of hope, forgiveness, and the depths of love. Well-done debut novel!

I loved reading this book.  I found out about it from Facebook and decided to buy it because there were no new books from the authors that I normally read.  It was a great buy.  Well written for a first book.  I fell in love with all the characters.  There were times I cried and wanted there to be more details.  There were parts of the book that could have been stretched out to give more details but I am not an author so I don't know how that works.  There are some really great characters and I truly hope that she writes books about them.  I know at the end that she has a book planned for Landon and I can not wait to read about him.  I love how this book is not just from one characters point of view it let me know how each of them were feeling and what they were thinking.  I would totally recommend this book to friends.

    Almost there

This was a really good story!!! When reading the synopsis, I thought it was just going to be another predictable love story with no real message. However, things happened that I did not expect and I actually learned something! Those are the kinds of stories that I love!! The only thing that I truly did not like about this novel was that there are way too many editorial mistakes for my taste. Other than that, I would definitely recommend reading this novel!

Unbreakable took me a bit by surprise. The story begins as a sweet love story about friends falling in love. I was happily floating along with the story. Then....BAM! My heart broke.

After the death of her mother, Jessica's dad moved them out to California. He's a Firefighter, so wasn't around all the much. But, Jessica found a home and a family with the Garcia's. She became best friend's with Ava Garcia, but the whole family accepted her as theirs. After years of crushing on Gabe, they share a kiss. This changed their whole relationship. I absolutely adored watching these two fall in love.

Gabe couldn't have been more perfect. He's sensitive, sexy, and flat out in love with Jess. Her needs come first and he doesn't want to be without her. Ever. But, things happen. Bad things happen. Jessica is left shattered and feeling lost. Despite Gabe's support, Jessica feels like she needs some time on her own. This part of the book just about killed me. The thing is though, I could totally understand why Jessica made the decisions she did. Of course, it would have made my heartache ease a bit if she had allowed Gabe to be there for her, but I think she really needed to heal herself. Her life changed and she needed to find peace.

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention Landon. I absolutely adored Landon. He plays a key role in Jessica's healing process. He's cocky, sexy, and has a bad boy vibe...even though he's a cop. Landon fell for Jess. He saw in her, someone he could actually have a future with. There is no doubt that Landon has some dark stories to tell about his past and that's what's held him back in relationships before. I'm anxious to read more about Landon in his book. While Jess is grateful for her time with Landon, her heart belonged to Gabe, always.

Overall, I really loved this book. Jessica found the strength, with support and therapy, to recover. What she suffered through isn't something that can ever be forgotten, but Jessica found a way to live. She was surrounded by people who loved her. So, what started as a sweet little love story, turned out to be story about healing, overcoming adversity, and allowing love to heal. I couldn't have been happier with how Gabe and Jessica's story turned out despite all the heartache. If you're looking for a great book that makes you swoon, turns you inside out, and makes you fall in love all over again...this is a great pick for you. I won't be forgetting Gabe and Jessica's story anytime soon.

    Quotes:
~"This is just the beginning," I say to her, planting a kiss on her lips in between each word.
    "Beginning of what?"
"Us." A huge sense of relief washes over me. I wasn't sure what I was going to do if she didn't reciprocate my feelings. A quiet laugh escapes her lips as she lays her head on my chest. We lie like this; in the silence. Her warm body pressed against mine feels natural, like she was made for me.-Loc 557

~"We will get through this, together. You and I. Nothing will break us, ever. Not this. So you hear me, Jess? Nothing. We're unbreakable."-Loc 1624

~"I will wait for you. When you are ready to come home, I'll be there. I will always wait for you." And that's when I know there is no on in this world for me other than Gabe Garcia.-Loc 3635

~"I can't remember a time when I haven't loved you. You have been a part of my life for over fourteen years. When you were younger, it was a different kind of love, but now, it's the kind of love that won't let me breathe if you're not with me. It's the kind of love that makes me not want to live if I can't be with you,"-Loc 3802

“Every broken person’s worst fear—that no one will be able to love us in spite of our scars.”

This was an emotional and heart wrenching story. I loved the first half of the book. Reading about Jess, Ava, and Gabe's childhood, how they were like siblings, and how Gabe and Jess became a couple. The book follows their budding relationship, and then BAM. A tragedy happens, and Jess breaks things off, thus ripping my heart out. Jess leaves for North Carolina for an internship. She meets Landon, who is a police officer. I didn't particularly like Landon. I thought he was an egotistical ass. The only redeeming thing about him, was how he pointed out to Jess that she was still in love with Gabe. I am happy this book got the ending, I was rooting for.

    OH MY FREAKIN WOW!

I absolutely loved this book. It has just the right amount of everything. I laughed, I cried alot. At times my heart actually ached. The characters are amazing. The chemistry between Gabe and Jess is off the charts HOT. My heart went out to Jess. I don't know if I could have been as strong as her. Although it took her awhile to regain her strength and find herself again. Her love for Gabe is the one constant in her life. My heart kind of broke alittle for Landon. I can't wait to read his story. I highly recommend this book to everyone. Gabe has to be one of the strongest, kindest, sweetest, most caring guys ever with a love for Jess that will never end.
