Overview

"Mom always told me there are two kinds of love in this world: the steady breeze, and the hurricane. Emerson Ray was my hurricane..."

Juliet McKenzie was an innocent eighteen-year-old when she spent the summer in Beachwood Bay—and fell head over heels in love with Emerson. Complicated, intense Emerson, the local bad boy. His blue eyes hid dark secrets, and just one touch could set Juliet ablaze. Their love was demanding and all-consuming, but when summer ended, tragedy tore them apart. Juliet swore she'd never go back, and she's kept that promise . . . until now.

Four years later, Juliet's done her best to rebuild the wreckage of her shattered life. She's got a great boyfriend, and a steady job planned after she graduates. Returning to Beachwood to pack up her family's beach house to prepare it for sale, Juliet is determined that nothing will stand in the way of her future. But one look from Emerson, and all her old desire comes flooding back. He let her go once, but this time, he's not giving up without a fight. And Emerson fights dirty.

A heartbreaking history. An unstoppable passion. Torn between her past and future, Juliet struggles to separate love from desire. But will they find a way to overcome their tragic secrets—together? And after so much damage has been done, can a love remain unbroken?

Editorial Reviews

Unbroken was soooo good! It was sweet, romantic, and passionate. I enjoyed the entire story, but the ending just blew me away. It was so overwhelming, a wonderful treat for this die hard romantic. When I finished, I was thoroughly pleased. I can't wait to read more from Melody Grace.

I have read countless amount of new adult books, but the way this one is written is just beautiful... This author really has a gift with words. Even the steamy scenes are amazingly written.
Goodreads - Elizabeth Lee
I could not put this book down once I started reading it. Melody Grace truly brought out all the emotions and depths that Juliet and Emerson were feeling... I cried tears of utter sadness and joy while reading Unbroken. I am so happy I read this book, and I look forward to reading more of Melody Grace’s work. Unbroken was phenomenal!

    Absolutely Breathtaking...

If anyone is ever to ask me why I take a chances with reading self published/indie authors, or wonders if they themselves should bother, I will point them in the direction of this book. This is why right here. Sure they're not all going to be winners but when you find one like Unbroken it makes it worth it.

I was captivated from the prologue and was basically breathless all the way through to the end. I think when it comes down to it all women...okay I'll change that because some of you will argue with me...a good percentage of us, we want that hurricane described in the prologue. A steady breeze is fine, every now and again. It may be steady. It may be reliable. But it leaves you wanting. We need that hurricane. It whips through and makes you feel alive. It may leave things messy and full of destruction, but if you can ride it out... that hurricane, in the end becomes your steady breeze. I for one...want that hurricane. Which is one of the things that makes this book so great. It allows you to feel like maybe that's all possible.

Because holy book boy hotness batman... Emerson is a freaking hurricane! In the beginning I briefly felt sorry for Daniel. Trust me it didn't last. He even kind of irritated me at one point! I mean he was a nice guy and all but he was far from perfect. He didn't inspire the passion that Emerson does. Okay I'm on the verge of full on swoon mode so *deep breath* I'm done. Ha! Juliet is so great to follow and easy to love. To me, she didn't have any of those annoying habits or weaknesses that so many leading female characters do these days. I mean she had weaknesses but they were warranted and not ones that had you dreading turning another page. Ohhhhh and Lacey. I love this character so much. I want a friend like her in real life. The girl seriously cracks me up. And (hint, hint) I'm hoping (hint, hint) that maybe (hint, hint) possibly (hint, hint) that Lacey might (hint, hint) get her own book maybe? Pretty please? *Nudges Melody Grace with elbow* (hint, hint)!! Ha! I can only hope... :)

This book is so full of emotions and I felt, right along side with Juliet, every one of them. The sadness, the frustration, the anger, feeling as if my heart was broken in a million pieces, the moments of happiness and oh my word the absolute mind blowing passion between Juliet and Emerson. Wow. There are no words. No seriously Melody Grace used them all already!

I devoured this book and now that it's done I feel a bit of a loss, sad that it's over. I fall in love with books a lot. All the time really. But every once in a while I feel a special connection to one, not out of the fact that I feel like I can relate to what's going on, I don't know. Maybe it's being able to connect to the passion that the author pours into their work at the time, there are some that it just comes across stronger than the others and I can feel the emotions they're trying to imply. Feel along with the characters. Fall in love with them. And then when it's over and when they're gone it's like you've lost something. I don't know, I'm just being silly and blabbing here! Basically I just wasn't ready for this one to be over okay? Okay!

Quite obviously I think everyone should read this book. It's hard to believe this is a debut novel! It seems like Melody Grace has been doing this for years.

This book was amazing. I was late to work because I couldn't stop reading! The romance is so intense, and I couldn't help but fall for Emerson and his relationship with Juliet. Besides the great characters and story, Melody Grace's excellent writing really sets Unbroken apart. Great read!

    Confused

I honestly do not understand all of these great reviews. The book has an amazing concept, but the story was honestly lacking. The majority of the story was in the characters head and very little of them together. I found myself skipping many pages because it was saying the same thing over amd over.
And when the characters were actually together and talking the words they shared were either eachothers name (not joking) or very cruel words. I wish this story would have been done better because i was really looking forward to it.

This book is romantic, hot, and full of action. I absolutely adore Juliet and hope I get to see more of her life. She is brave and smart and I totally identified with her. And her first love Emerson, is exactly the alpha-male of my dreams!

Don't waist your money on this book. It is boring! I don't understand the good reviews, this book is just drama and no romance. It had potential but was too slow and Emerson, the main character, was almost always mean to her. I don't believe that the end justifies the means, so I was really disappointed with this book!

Unbroken is the fast paced love story of Emerson and Juliet and much like her namesake these star crossed lovers were destined to be together until lies and promises broke them apart.
Four years ago Juliet experienced the best and worst summer of her life. She met Emerson, the boy of her dreams, her forever boy and it was a hot passionate love affair to remember. But then tragedy struck and Juliet returned to the city, trying to piece back her shattered heart and forget Emerson although she knew that this was impossible. "I've had Emerson Ray's name branded on my heart since the day we met, and nothing could ever change that."
In the present day, Juliet returns to the last place she and Emerson had connected, under the ruse of packing up the family beach house but deep down she knew why she had to return. Emerson.
This was a quick read for me, I finished it within a matter of hours and I think that was due to the pacing of the story. This was a hot passionate love affair and I got swept along with Juliet and Emerson. I liked Juliet, I could connect with her pain and her torment. After building a life away from Cedar Grove, it is clear Juliet is just going through the motions, pretending everything is good on the surface while she is cracking underneath. Juliet cried A LOT don't get me wrong the girl had a whole stream of issues to deal with but I was willing her to stand up and take what she wanted. She did get there in the end, I was just sending my independent woman vibes saying 'c'mon girl' :)
Emerson. Dark and brooding Emerson. This guy was like a closed book when it came to what was going on in his mind. It was clear to see the passion and love he still felt for Juliet but you could tell even though he truly wanted her, he was always keeping her at arm's length and again I was having to tell him off while I read; 'stop trying to be noble and just say it!' ;)
Is it worth mentioning this book was hot? ;) because believe me it was! I felt the connection between Juliet and Emerson, the fizzing electricity and consuming desire when they got even remotely close to each other. They had passion in abundance and this was conveyed in the author's writing. I loved the writing style, this story just flowed effortlessly allowing me to melt into the story and experience this journey with Juliet and Emerson.
This was a great whirlwind story of first love and forever love. It had a great supporting cast of characters and I do wonder who will feature in the companion novel ;) If you are looking for a great, steamy all-consuming love story then what are you waiting for? Buy it now! :)

    Just Okay

Meh. This book was okay; not horrible but not well written either. I tend to prefer well written literature and if it weren't for the pretty explicit sex, I'd say this is geared toward a pretty young crowd.

    Disappointed

First of all there are only two and a half love scenes. Major bummer. When they were arguing the dialog was unrealistic. Like a teenager wrote it. They were mad and hated each other then they were in each others arms. Then something stupid happens and they hate each other again. One secret discovered and its all love again. Ugh! Not worth the money.

I was so disappointed in this book, I read all the great reviews and thought i'd give it a try. the story line felt rushed even though it was the book was a decent amount of pages. The main female character was stupid and couldn't make any good decisions for herself and the male main character was overall unlikable in my opinion. sad i wasted the money.
