There has always been a special place in my reading heart for fighters/boxers/etc. And also a special place for girls/women who are survivors of rough pasts. The start of this serial didn't disappoint in either of these areas!

It's obvious that Jo has had a really rough past, even if we don't quite understand everything that has happened to her yet. But there's a fighter buried underneath her jeans and oversized sweatshirts.

Colt is an MMA fighter, but he seems to be losing his touch in the cage. He's hot and cold, and confusing the crap out of Jo, who hasn't felt one iota of 'good thoughts' about any man in the last 3 years, until now.

And I can't leave out Zero! He may be a secondary character, but he's important, and is a freaking hoot! :) Once you get to know him, you realize it's no wonder he's Jo's best friend.

Can't wait to read the next one!

This is the first that I have read by J.J., This certainly won't be the last. She had me reading until I finished the book, then I tried to turn the page after it was done because I needed more!
It starts out following Jo, she is down on her luck and in a tight spot. When a group of guys start messing with her, she is saved by a gentleman on a bike. But not just any gentleman, a up and coming MMA fighter.
J.J. writes with passion. She also writes like she has she has been right there in the gym training. She knows what she is talking about. You need to pick this book up. So much awesomeness in this book!

Will NOT read an other jj knight series and or books!!!!!!!

I read all 5 of the uncaged series but it really makes me angry when the author or publisher feels the need to count 54 or 82 pages as a book. I feel manipulated, when they could just write the one book and let us love them because they are great writers and want more of them. Seeking out all there books. PITY

    EXCELLENT SPORTS-THEMED ROMANCE ********************************

    EXCELLENT SPORTS-THEMED ROMANCE
    ************************************************
    Series: Uncaged Love #1
    Category /Genre: Contemporary Romance, Sports
Received from: J.J. Knight (in exchange for an honest review)
Recommended for: 16+ due to violence
    Grammar/editing: A – near perfect

This is the first release in a serial story being meted out in the same fashion in which Stephen King originally released THE GREEN MILE. I was one of the intrepid fans stalking the book store every few weeks for that series and am just as eagerly chasing this series.

This is a perfectly paced contemporary romance centered around a gym where Colt McClure, son of the famous traditional boxer “The Cure” McClure, is training in MMA. While intervening for Jo when she is being attacked on the streets near the gym, he sees a natural, raw talent in the struggling-to-survive girl and puts in a good word for her at the gym, securing a job for her. Sparks fly around the little hurricane that is Jo’s temper, lightning quick and dangerous.

I cannot wait to find out what happens next. What is the story between Colt and Brittany? Can Colt and Jo embrace the desires that surround them in the gym and in each other?

As a martial artist, myself, I was impressed with the descriptions of the fights as given. I felt myself moving to the instructions, facing off with friend and foe, and itching to resume my own workouts. I also remember, very well, the humiliation and pain of the punch that made it through my defense. Very well done, J.J. Knight!

Huge fan of MMA and an even bigger fan of romance novels with an MMA lead. After finishing JJ Knight’s first series, I was in withdrawals and wanted more from her. STAT! Wasn’t expecting something so great, so soon after, but boy did she deliver!

*whispers* I may even love Colt more than Dylan!

Colt ‘Gunner’ McClure, makes a great first impression when he crosses paths with our leading lady, Jo. This stranger somehow makes her feel safe and protected and that translated well with me.
Jo isn’t your happy-go-lucky, young lady. There’s mystery and intrigue behind her. I get the sense that something tragic has happened to her, but she works hard to keep it at bay. I instantly loved this character who I can tell is more than meets the eye.

Jo is desperately seeking a job to support herself. She has barely enough bread and peanut butter to make a sandwich for herself. Luckily, the odds are in her favor and she lands a job at the very same gym where the sexy MMA fighter, Colt, trains.

Colt sees something in her. Strength? Resilience? Passion? Whatever it is, he believes in her and it’s clear as day that he’s drawn to this woman.
Same goes with Jo. She’s always been anti-male, but this guy has her heart thumping like mad and butterflies straight from their cocoons flying around in her belly.

The supporting characters all have their own stories to tell. Just like Knight’s previous series, all the characters capture the reader’s interest effortlessly.
Zero, Jo’s best and only friend is supportive and energetic. A nice ying to Jo’s yang. Polar opposites but bests nonetheless.
Brittney, Colt’s girlfriend/friend, whatever she may be, is a huge factor in the story. I’m eager to see what her motives are and exactly what part she plays overall.

I’m quickly catching on to the fact that JJ Knight LOVES cliffhangers and having mysterious characters. Fortunately, so do I! I’m already hooked to this series and ready to take another journey through this newest series.

I really liked this book and can’t wait to read the rest of the parts. It is about a girl who has a not so nice past. She doesn’t trust or feel comfortable around males. She only has one friend who is a drag queen. Despite the fact that he is male, the first time she met him he was dressed and looked like a girl. One day when walking home these boys start to harass her. She is helped by a man. Something about him makes her feels safe unlike anyone else. She takes a job at the gym where he works. She starts to feel things for him and him for her. But its complicated.

I can’t wait to read the rest of the parts in this story. It has me completely hooked. There are so many things questions I want answers to, which I am sure will be answered in the other parts of this series.

The Revenge Series was a great read, but the Uncaged Love Series is going to be even better! JJ Knight's Uncaged Love #1 is skillfully written and had me captivated from the very first page to the cliff hanging end. A sexy read. Can't wait to continue reading this series.

I received a copy from the author in exchange for my honest review, so here it is. I am a sucker for MMA fighters and Colt is the perfect type. He has a heart, saves the damsel, and helps her get a job at Busters Gym. What he sees in Jo is her potential as a female fighter. She has always been a fighter and after three years in LA, she has lost her job and now has to pawn a family heirloom, her grandmother necklace, just to help cover rent and buy some food. The job at the gym is not that hard and she gets to look at Colt most of the time. What better way to spend the day? With her frine Zero, a drag queen, she stays away from all men. But why is she drawn to Colt. He shows her a few fighter moves and the chemistry between them is almost unbearable. But then there is Brittney. What is her deal? And then guess who shows up, yep Dylan Wolff to sing about Blue Shoes. Loving this one and can't wait for book 2. JJ has a way of pulling you in from the beginning and keeping you there until the end when you are left say, WHAT? What's Next? I need more now please.

JJ Knight has got me. I am usually not big into new authors, but I found her & decided to give her writing a chance. I loved Revenge, but the 1st book of this story had me from page 1. Maybe it's cause she talked up the hot fighter guy Bryan so much, but man, this story was so fun. the characters were entertaining & exciting. I can't wait to see their development. I LOVE Zero. lol!!! Colt & Jo are so hot & sizzling!!! I am not usually 1 for fighters but woo hoo is all I gotta say about Colt. Don't miss out, get this book!!!

After reading the Revenge series by JJ Knight I was so excited for a chance to read Uncaged Love. I have a love/hate relationship with these books because they are such a quick read and I get so into the stories but then I have to wait for the next to be released to get more.

Colt and Jo are going to be my new character loves. I love the mystery in the characters and the knowing the story isn't going to take the turns you would expect. I can't wait to find out more about them and know why they are where they are.

This story got me hooked right at the beginning. I couldn't put this down!!! JJ Knight does an outstanding job in this book, you are drawn in from the start like you are part of the story. This is a beginning to what I believe will be an amazing story between Jo and Colt. I also liked the star guest who made an appearance in the book. :) Fabulous read!!!

Another Brilliant Masterpiece by JJ Knight!

I will admit that I had a hard time letting the Revenge series go...mainly because I had the biggest crush on Dylan Wolf and I wasn't entirely sure that JJ could give me another character to love as much as I loved Dylan. But....she did. And I don't know who I love more, Dylan or Colt.

Jo is an interesting character. She is very closed off to most people and has a rather difficult time letting people in. I get the impression that something very wrong happened between her and her step-brother and step-mother, since she calls them evil. I don't know if I even want to know what made her not trust men, but whatever it was, it's bad enough. She is very jaded and it makes me want to know what exactly happened to get her to be so jaded. She talks about how she has a hurricane inside of her, it gets kind of ugly when she feels threatened--she explains that when she feels threatened, she fights her way out. She has a lot of fight in her.

Colt is an MMA fighter, but here's the trick...the guy can't seem to win. He has lost his mojo and he just can't seem to find his rhythm again. Then he meets Jo and is somewhat intrigued by her and her attitude. He sees something in her that even she can't see. And it almost becomes his obsession to get her to see that strength in her. He claims he needs her there in the room as he's practicing, but I think he needs her to find himself again, to find the will to win again.

These two characters are a little broken, but maybe what they need is each other to feel whole again. Whatever the case may be, there is no denying that there is a whole lot of sparks flying between these two and I cannot wait to read the next book to find out if the sparks turn to a full-on blaze.

Another awesome series from JJ Knight. In this series you meet Jo who has no confidence in herself and then you meet Colt who is a MMA fighter and immediately sees something in Jo. The writing is great in that it does not give away all of Jo's and Colt's secrets. and makes you connect with all of the characters, even the minor characters. Once again this series has twists and turns that don't quite answer all of your questions. Can't wait for the second books.

The thing I liked most about this book is that it shows what a female has to go through in order to train to fight. I hope the rest of the series follows this theme. I felt that it was kind of slow in developing something between Jo and Colt. I did like how Dylan Wolff showed up from her other series. The cliff hanger at the end has me thinking that it is all a big misunderstanding and is part of promotional stunt. I am looking foward to the next book because I want to see what direction Jo's character is going to go and I want to learn more about her past.

    more from this reviewer

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

When I received my email with this ARC I found myself groaning. I just knew that JJ Knight was about to sucker me in yet again and I was correct. I loved Uncaged and now I want more. .....pretty please!

We start out with Jo. She is a girl who prefers to be hidden in the shadows. Dressing in jeans and oversized hoodies to hide from the world, especially men. It's the only way for her to deal with her severe trust issues towards men. When she is accosted on the sidewalk by several men a hero steps in to help.

Her "golden boy" turns out to be MMA fighter Colt McClure. For the first time she isn't scared of a man and Jo has no idea what to do with that. When she starts working at the gym where he is training their attraction for each other is obvious to everyone by Jo. Her low self esteem keeps her guarded and sometimes hard to approach.

Colt has his own issues going on. There were a few twists and turns involved that left me curious as to how the rest of this series is going to proceed. And as usual with JJ Knight I got left with one heck of a cliffhanger.

So for now I will proceed to count down for number two. (sigh)
