of clinical medicine and associate director of the Endocrinology,

Diabetes, and Metabolism Clinic at Washington University

School of Medicine. He is also the author of Diabetic Foot: A

Michael A. Pfeifer, MD, MS, CDE, FACE, a

certified diabetes educator and physician, is a former director

of the Obesity and Diabetes Center of the East Carolina

School of Medicine. He is currently a senior director in
