Meet the Author

As soon as Dorothy Elbury learned to read she was continually reprimanded for “always having her nose in a book”. Years later Dorothy still spent all her free time reading until, one day, finding herself with nothing to read and time hanging heavy on her hands, she started to scribble the first paragraphs of what would eventually become her first of many Mills & Boon romance novels. Dorothy currently lives in Lincolnshire, England, with her husband of over fifty years.

Non-sensual novel with an interesting, well thought out plot. My first novel by this British writer. Enjoyed reading the colloquial expressions. The problem however, to many run on sentences. The Earl of Wyvern, Benedict Ashcroft retired from the militia upon finding out that has elder brother jeopardized the family fortune; subsequently he committed suicide. In order to save the estate Ben must marry an heiress. On his way to London he meets Miss Jessica Beresford (a diamond of the first water and her first societal season), instantly their wilful personalities clash. However, through circumstances (a mysterious note) and through episodes of short events they keep converging. Difficult imagining a love match when the main characters do not come together often. Loved the secondary characters.
