"Under His Skin" by Sidney Bristol

What is this novel all about?

A woman who doesn’t believe she deserves love…

What I got out of this read....

Who would have thought that Brian would find someone of his pass(after ten years) during this Convention to give him a tattoo that would be a memorial to his lost band mates. Then Brian spends the weekend with Pandora (tattoo artist) and it seems for a while everything seemed to go alright for these two. However, Pandora and Brian both had some pasted troubles that were presenting itself having been scarred physically, emotionally and even some secrets. I don't want to leave out the chemistry of the steamy and hot sexy erotic scenes that were off the chart! Now, to get past all of these issues is their a villain out there who has other plans for Pandora and her business? I found this a interesting read seeing this heroine come to terms with her past and learn to trust and support Brian.

What I liked about this novel...

I like how this author brings out the suspense along with the romance and you will be lead to wonder will their be any happiness between Pandora and Brian. To get it all you will have to pick up this good read "Under His Skin" to see how this author will bring it all out to the readers. You will definitely find yourself rooting for these two main characters. Also the secondary characters ...Kellie, Autumn and Mary were all supporting and well developed which only helped give the reader a well written novel. I really liked how the author headed the chapter with an important tattoo definition that related to each chapter.

    Overall Impression...

So, my overall impression of "Under His Skin" was a good drama, mystery, suspenseful romance novel that I would recommend to you as a good read that will leave you wanting the next novel by this author.

I think I speak for my fellow readers when I say, give us a hero we can fall in love with and we’ll fall in love with your book. Under His Skin and its sexy hero Brian, left me swooning!

Brian, an ex-rocker with a heart of gold, is emotionally and physically scarred after a tragic accident. Pandora, the spirited tattoo artist heroine, has scars of her own from a less than white-picket fence past. She’s not at all convinced she deserves a great guy like Brian. Lucky for us and Pandora, Brian is convinced she does.

From the start, I really liked the hero and heroine as well as the entire cast of well-developed supporting characters. Brian and Pandora have great chemistry, in and out of the bedroom. Steamy and plentiful, many of their sex scenes have some real emotional punch. I loved the vulnerability of Brian and I identified with Pandora’s insecurities.

The author’s knowledge of the art of tattooing is impressive too. It added a level of authenticity to the book that helped immerse me in the story. Not to mention, I have some tattoo envy now.

I wasn’t expecting the dramatic turn the sub-plot about Pandora’s not so nice ex-boyfriend (understatement of the year to call him not so nice) took. It added another rich layer to the well-crafted story.

This is the first book I’ve read by Sidney Bristol and I will certainly read her again.

wish it was longer, didnt want it to end so soon

I really enjoyed this story but i did feel there was room for much more "story" to be told. Wish it was a full length novel. Granted when buying these books you aren't expecting a lot of substance, but this story definitely had potential for some serious story telling. Loved it though, definitely a good read.

Intriguing Main Characters With An Over The Top Villain

Under His Skin by Sidney Bristol presents us with two physically and emotionally scarred individuals in order to help them find happiness and move on from their pain. I loved both of these characters and applaud the author for bringing such a unique and memorable couple to the forefront. They may not be what every reader pictures as the perfect couple, but for me I found much to like in their pairing.

Pandora has been treated badly by most men her whole life. From a father who ignored her to a former fiancée who abused her and is still obsessed with her, she's hesitant to open her heart again. The one bright spot amongst all the men she's known was rock star Brian Adler. Their time together may have been brief but it affected both of them profoundly and for her he became the benchmark by which she's measured every man since. Pandora's worked hard to gain confidence and meeting up again with Brian throws her into a tailspin that ends up in the bedroom. Her brain wars with her heart every step she takes in her relationship with Brian which leads to confusion for poor Brian. It's not until an earth-shattering event at the end of the story that Pandora realizes what she truly has and that she'll fight to keep the man who's given her the strength to rely on another.

Brian is the lone survivor from his rock band's plane crash and carries guilt around as well as scars and a limp. He's felt adrift until he's reunited with the young woman who left a part of her with him all these years which helped him get through the worst of his recovery. He jumps into this relationship quickly and wholeheartedly and their numerous sexual encounters are hot and heavy. He's not afraid to put his heart on the line and all he wants is to do whatever makes Pandora happy. He wants to be her protector but at no time does he smother her. He gives her the strength to overcome her past and at the same time he moves past the guilt he's been carrying.

The villain in this story is made obvious very early on but leaves a lasting impression. I almost found his actions a bit over-the-top though. He's truly vile, and not only does he try to harm Pandora but also the business she works for. I can't help but think though that a simple restraining order would've solved a lot of her problems and saved her a lot of pain. The heart stopping conclusion of the story is his final deranged act and puts some intriguing secondary characters in jeopardy as well as opening Pandora's eyes as to what she has with Brian. The villain may be crazy but he serves his purpose! The ultimate ending isn't completely tied up but for Brian and Pandora their path is much clearer.

From the wonderful characters to the steamy sexual encounters, Under His Skin got under my skin and has me excited for the next book in this series. With its strong and unique female protagonists I could almost feel my fist pumping for all the girl-power being exuded and have high hopes for where things go from here. I'm already counting down the days until I can revisit these bad girls who are oh so good!
