    Didn't end

I would have liked to have read an ending. This book didn't have one. Just stopped. Can't find the other books in the series, so I will be deleting this one. What a dissapointment!

This book was written with a really strange format.

This book was written with a very strange format. I had a really hard time reading it. The dialog was very annoying to me. It was very stilted and did not sound or feel natural or real. At the time I wrote this, the reviews were reported to be three besides mine, but there was only one posted. I would have liked to have read the other two if they were petainent to the book. Perhaps they would have given me a better understanding of the way it was written. I only made it through the first three chapters, then gave up. I hope you enjoy this free nook book more then I did. I hate to give it a rating when I did not complete the book, but I wanted to see what others have to say about the writting style.

    Holes.

Before I get started on the writing style, I am going to address the holes in the plot.

Possible spoiler alert, though I don't think anyone who has not read the novel to know what I am talking about. Just a warning anyway.

In the beginning, Sher, in thought, wants to meet Alice, Brad's serious girlfriend. She believes the couple to be getting serious and wants to get to know Alice because, even though she and her brother Brad are somewhat estranged, for want of better term, the relationship seems pretty serious. Okay.. LATER in the novel, while being interviewed by Glen and Sher, Todd, Brad's business partner, states that all the messed up stuff started happening less than a week prior to their present time, including a phone call that occured a few days before with a warning. In Todd's thoughts we learn that durong the aforementioned phone call, the mystery caller who threatens him also demands that he introduce Brad to Alice. So, does that mean that the introduction of the "couple" took place only a few days before all the scary stuff started? How can that be, especially when we are under the impression that Brad has been seeing Alice for a while and it's serious, according to inner thoughts by Sher. Todd doesn't mention it, because he doesn't see the relevence, since the couple has been happy and loving since meeting. How can that be if they have only met a couple of days prior? And his wife had a baby only two days prior, yet he has managed to be entrenched in this whole thing up to his eyeballs, play match maker and be at work bright and early on a Monday morning, wife probably less than a full day home from the hospital after giving birth to a baby. Does NOT add up. Not even a little bit. And he doesn't thinks it's relevent that the person who threatened him and his family wants him to introduce a woman to his bff/partner? Is he a special kind of moron? I mean, who says "I will kill your family if you don't do the construction project like I say. And, by the way, if your friend is single, I know a great gal he may be interested in meeting"? I almost peed on myself from laughing and I now have a headache from all the eyebrow raises this book induced.

Now for the more annoying issue... the writing syle. I felt like I was reading a children's book. "Sher feels this way..." "Glen remembers her gluten allergy..." "Sher remembered to brush her teeth..." "Sher likes her job..." "Officer David enjoys being partners with Glen..." and so on. It reads like a books for kids, except the content was for adults.

The book was good. Glad it was free. May read the others if I can find them cheap. I want to finally unravel the doggone Brad-Alice debacle. It's killing me, lol :)

    Disappointing.

The actions of the characters were mostly improbable, especially the police officers. The writing was very stiff and painful to read. Made it to page 63 but couldn't continue on.

    good read

Sher is the owner of a Deli in Colorado and is feeling as if she is being followed. She has a feeling of being followed and gets home to find things are not how she left them. Police are called and one of the responding officers is someone she saw briefly after being separated and before the divorce was final. The intrigue is good and is suspenseful. Will have to read to find out the ending.

    Ok

This book had potential but was written so poorly. Forced myself to finish it so I could figure out "who done it". Will not pay 2.99 for the sequels and more terrible writting.

Police officers would never behave this way. The story line could be interesting, if the characters were more fully developed and the plot was fleshed out with some details. If it's the author's first book, I suggest she keep at it, just enhance her style.

    Okay....

I really tried to get into this book but like the reviewer before me, I couldn't. The format in which the author wrote was different and it was tough to get into the story. I just didn't like the author's style of writing. This book was free and says its 252 pages long. I made it to the middle of chapter 3. Hopefully your experience will be better than mine.
