Under the Covers (Harlequin Temptation #857) based on 0 ratings. 2 reviews.
Detective Blake Hammond, feeling completely burned out, knows its way-past-time to go on vacation. But his 2 week trip to Hawaii is postponed when he's picked to do an undercover assignment with DEA agent Ronnie Carmichael, posing as a honeymooning couple at a rich resort. From their first meeting, Blake and Ronnie clash, but Blake is the first to want to act on the instant attraction between them. Despite his determination to make Ronnie react to him, she is just as determined not to. She wants to get the job done and retire from the agency. Jamie's books are all great reads, hot and exciting, seductive, sassy, sexy, but this one has to be the best so far! The sexual tension between hero & heroine fairely sizzles off the pages---- and that is page after page!
He knows he has worked too hard recently, but Detective Blake Hammond feels his upcoming Hawaiian vacation will regenerate his batteries. However, he is forced to give up his two weeks off to go undercover and assist DEA agent Ronnie Carmichael on a very important case. Ronnie is at the end of her rope after chasing the underbelly of society, a never-ending nightmare with no relief in sight. Unable to mentally cope with the dregs she routinely deals with anymore, Ronnie has decided that this case is her grand finale as a law enforcement official as she plans to quit once this case is finished. Both cops are experienced and know the rules of undercover work, especially the part of not socializing even if they are playing newlyweds on their honeymoon. Already in a romantic situation, Blake and Ronnie find it difficult to keep their hands off one another. Soon the line between a pretend marriage and the desire to make it real blurs, but their growing feelings interfere with the danger of their work. UNDER THE COVERS is an exciting romantic suspense tale in which the sexual tension between the lead couple overshadows the investigation assigned to them. The story line is fun because of the lead couple whose struggles to remain objective lose to the allure of one another. Jamie Denton provides her fans with an engaging tale for those readers who relish deep characters struggling to control free flying hormone. Harriet Klausner
