Seductive? Leave you breathless? Whoever wrote that couldn't have been more dead on. I just finished Undercurrent and I'm still sitting here like O_O. Undercurrent was just as good or even better than Siren. I loved every aspect of it. There were a few twists I just did not see coming that blew my socks off.
Undercurrent starts right where Siren left us. Vanessa is back home in Boston and ready to start the school year. With Paige joining her at home, her amazing boyfriend, Simon, by her side, and all the sirens from Winter Harbor frozen what could go wrong, right? With the pressure of school and college Vanessa gets the attention of the school's most popular player, Parker King and the feelings just may be mutual. So, Vanessa starts to doubt things with Simon, more people are turning up dead, and things seem to be changing, Vanessa will have to discover the problem quicker than she thinks.
Let me just start by saying it is SO rare if I cry/tear up while reading. Only a select few have ever made me cry (a couple being: Forbidden by: Tabitha Suzuma and Feed by: Mira Grant). I must be really invested in these characters because at the end of Undercurrent, I was tearing up. Oh man those fast few pages killed me... for more than one reason actually. Only one reason made me tear up though. And no, I'm sorry I can't tell you. I won't spoil. I will say, it takes amazing words and an amazing book to make me tear up though.
I couldn't have asked for Undercurrent to be any different. I loved the characters, the writing, the surprises, the love triangle, the suspense, the opening chapter heheh ;), just everything about it was brilliantly crafted. And let me just say I love Simon. I loved Simon all through-out Siren and I still loved him all through-out Undercurrent. He is the cutest boyfriend ever. He is just so sincere.
I'm still sitting here like "O_O". Excuse me while I take my own seaweed shot or something because I'll need something to hold me over until Pulse (Book 3). (Just one little outburst: How could you end it like that Tricia?!?! AHH. I hope it resolves in Pulse, oh gosh. I hope, I hope, I hope.
If you read Siren, please go buy Undercurrent you will not be disappointed (at least in my opinion). It's quick-paced, suspense packed, and will pull at your heart strings. Undercurrent has 'lured' me in every way. I am anxiously awaiting Pulse. Five out of Five stars.

UNDERCURRENT, by Tricia Rayburn, is the highly anticipated sequel in the Siren series. At this point, Vanessa is dealing with her new siren-status while hiding it from everyone she loves. Her physical need for salt water overwhelms her until she finds a dangerous solution that shakes up her relationship with Simon.
I really liked this book. It was a bit more low key and angsty then the first book but equally intriguing. I felt so bad for Vanessa having to keep her secret from everyone and still try to appear normal. The seed of doubt was planted in her mind that Simon only liked her because she was a siren. That and the long-distance relationship with Simon in college and Vanessa still in high school added to the problem.
The progression of this book was rather slow in the beginning as compared to the fast action in Siren, but when it picked up I could not put the book down. The previous year, Vanessa was involved with freezing the lake and (supposedly) all the bad sirens in it. But with strange glimpses of Zara around Vanessa's home made her think that they didn't kill them for good. Vanessa's detective work to find out what really happened to the sirens under the lake turned into a scary revelation that was a perfect culmination to the book.
Along with all of her problems, Vanessa is approached by ladies-man Parker. His infatuation with her awakens the siren inside and realizes that her thirst and physical ailments are at bay when he is around. One part of this love triangle that I really appreciated was the honesty that Rayburn created at the end. I'm not going to ruin it but, what happened between Vanessa and Simon was justified, even if it made me very sad.
Overall, this was a great addition to the series. A lot of revelations occurred and I felt Rayburn created a perfect platform for the third book.

I was so excited to read this book after Siren & it was better than I imagined. I was so hooked I emailed Tricia Rayburn about a third and she said it is definite! So excited for the next book!
I highly recommend this book, at first I was a little set back knowing the paranormal part but I was impressed.

FinallY! I read the first one and basically exploded at the ending. I loved it though. It's a love-hate relationship that we have. But anyway, this should be awesome, as long as she ends up with Simon. He's like her perfect match.

This book is the continuation of the Siren series, about 2-3 months after Justine's untimely demise. Paige has moved in with Vanessa and her family. The situation is fairly normal, a little tense; there is still a lot of adjustment going on. Vanessa continuously feels as if she needs to break up with Simon, her long time boyfriend who stuck by her through her transformation and her sisters' demise.
Simon, in this novel, is still the sweet, caring guy and one awesome boyfriend to Vanessa. Vanessa is a bit of a prickly pear, she is constantly nervous that Zara will show up to torture her again. Paige is slightly steadier, she is more optimistic in this novel. Parker is the new kid on the scene, he is a womanizer and initially resistant to Vanessa's siren abilities...until he slowly warms up to her.
This novel has a bit of a love triangle between Parker, Vanessa, and Simon. It isn't really resolved in the ending, but the reader will have a fun time deciding who is better for Vanessa (*cough Simon cough*). Their is not that much focus on romance, however. The book is more focused on Vanessa's insecurities regarding her brush with the evil sirens and her "apparent abandonment" by her real mother.
This book has very exciting scenes, an intriguing and unusual plot, characters with "depth", and an interesting, cliff-hanger ending. This book is recommended for young adults/teens who enjoy fantasy and romance.

This bok wad probably one of my favorites, but the end was quite confusing. I had to reread the last tweny pages about twenty times and i still had no idea about what was going on. Other then that the book was very good, and i would recommend it to anyone who loves murder mystery books.

I personaly loved the Siren novels series. Siren (the first book to the series) was a truly marvelous tail! The author left me hungry for more of the adventures of Vannesa Sands! The author truly out did herself with Undercurrent! I could not put the book down for my life!:) lol Cannot wait for the third book to come out!

I was a little scared to read this book bcuz i go to winter harbor every summer and i hav kinda an imprintable imagination. But ya know its apretty darn good book that i wud definatlyrecommend

I just finished reading Siren and i thought that was the end of it i keeped flipped back between pages to find a ad about the next book im happy its a series.the ending was to confuzing to be left unrevealed.
