Meet the Author

Dr. Mohammad-Mahmoud Ould Mohamedou is Associate Director of the Program on Humanitarian Policy and Conflict Research at Harvard University. Prior to joining HPCR, Dr. Mohamedou served as Director of Research of the International Council on Human Rights Policy in Geneva, where he helped found and direct the research and policy program. He was a post-doctoral Scholar-in-Residence at the Center for Middle Eastern Studies at Harvard University, and Research Associate at the Ralph Bunche Institute on the United Nations in New York. His previous books include Societal Transition to Democracy (1996), Iraq and the Second Gulf War: State-Building and Regime Security (2001), and Contre-Croisade: Origines et Consequences du 11 Septembre (2004).
