Overview

More and more risk management professionals and experts work to secure the "Cyber Ecosystem" in all sectors. The financial services rely on a safe cyberspace.

Cyber intrusions and attacks have increased dramatically over the last decade, exposing sensitive personal and business information, disrupting critical operations, and imposing high costs on the economy.

Our daily life, economic vitality, and national security depend on a stable, safe, and resilient cyberspace.

We rely on this vast array of networks to communicate and travel, power our homes, run our economy, and provide government services.

President Obama has declared that the "cyber threat is one of the most serious economic and national security challenges we face as a nation" and that "America's economic prosperity in the 21st century will depend on cybersecurity."

Today we have some interesting developments. The National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology works with industry, academic and government experts to find practical solutions for businesses' most pressing cybersecurity needs.

The NCCoE collaborates to build open, standards-based, modular, end-to-end solutions that are broadly applicable across a sector, are customizable to the needs of individual businesses, and help businesses more easily comply with relevant standards and regulations.
