Overview

A fabulous, practical, and modern guide to true health from a fresh and engaging certified nutritionist with an inspiring and transformational message. Without ever using the word “diet,” Meghan Telpner encourages readers to make major life changes small step by small step with help from the latest nutritional science, a fun and encouraging voice, and an “abundance mindset.” Ideal for those seeking a gluten-free, plant-based meal plan and an accessible path to health.

UnDiet  answers the question many people have when they realize it’s time for a change in their diets, a change in their health, and a change in their lives: Where do I start? Without being too far off the mainstream, this book offers a simple, attainable, and most importantly, maintainable approach to living life well. With her strong, appealing personality, Telpner guides readers toward optimal gluten-free health by incorporating simple lifestyle modifications. Information is explained with refreshing clarity and vibrant passion, making it easy to follow ideas right off the book's brightly designed pages and into everyday life.

When Meghan was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease at age 26, and told her incurable condition could only be treated with surgery and a lifetime of medication, this wellness warrior gave up her career in advertising and her gym membership, and instead began practicing yoga, making smart nutritional modifications, and adding awesome herbal remedies into her life. Within four weeks she was completely symptom-free, and remains so six years after her diagnosis. Now a certified nutritionist who shares her knowledge via online courses and videos with a dedicated following around the world, Meghan offers a lifestyle based not on deprivation and painful restrictions, but vitality, mindfulness, and joy. With her help, we soon discover how our level of health and happiness is our own responsibility and the grand missing component of total health is our attitude. When we raise the bar of how we care for and think of ourselves, that standard gets raised in all aspects of our lives. Eat your way to the life of your dreams!

Includes a plan for an 8-week transformation and more than 35 delicious gluten-free, plant-based recipes.

As a Holistic Nutritionist I have collected many health, recipe, and well-being books throughtout the years. I found myself feeling perplexed by the many health books on the market and thought to myself, if I am confused, how does someone out there that doesn't know about nutrition decide what to choose. What I have found over the years is that I like a blend of cooked and raw foods, no meat, but with a little dairy, a little wild fish and some treats. Meghan's approach in UNDIET takes you through a blend of this style of eating from the healthiest and most natural ways. She has a wonderful story to share and her colourful and light hearted writing style make for a FUN and EASY read. A book that encompasses, mind, body and soul throughout the whole book. Wonderfully inspiring and right for EVERYONE with no focus on calorie counting, or counting your proteins, carbs or fat grams. A holistic and natural approach to your whole life.

If there is only one nutrition/health book you buy this year, make it this one... and buy a couple extra's as you will want to have your family and friends have their own copy. ~Nikki~

Undiet is awesome. I took a cooking workshop with Meghan many years ago, and she has had a huge influence on my whole outlook on health and nutrition. I am a vegetarian, and was when I met her. I thought I was eating healthy before... and quickly realized I had a long way to go — but not in a daunting annoying kind of way. In a wow, I had no idea that I've been so passive about what I have been putting in my body kind of way. It was actually empowering. She's honest and non-judgey, and will open your mind.
She doesn't necessarily back everything up with "science" or data, but to be perfectly honest, her approach resonates way more with me because of it. A lot of it is straight up common sense, and listening to your intuition.
I've seen some negative comments here, and everyone is entitled to their opinion of course, but I think they come from a place of resistance to change. Meghan doesn't come out and say "you should do this or that", but she encourages you to make small changes. You don't need to drastically change your diet overnight... but make yourself AWARE. Learn about your food and what you put in your body, and start taking steps to do some common sense things like increase your water consumption, increase your fresh fruits/veg, get active, and reduce your toxic load!

Her writing style is witty and approachable, it's fun to read, and her recipes are always fantastic.
After 5 years of reading Meghan's material, I still base the majority of my cooking on recipes of hers.

Meghan, you inspire me. You've had the biggest influence on the health decisions that I make day to day.
    Keep up the good work!

I found Meghan about 3 years ago when I was searching the web frantically for a way to help my son who was diagnosed with Crohns disease. Her blog spoke to me with wit and humor that I desperately needed during the darkest part of our lives. Day after day I was drawn back to it, learning and laughing and at some points crying (for all the things I just didn't know about food). My son's journey was long and difficult but I continued to make things that were healing for him. Three years later I am so thankful to God for his healing hands and to Meghan for her straight forward teachings and truely yummy recipes. I was so super excited when she announced she was writing a book! Her joy for life just jumps off the pages and makes you want to be the best version of you possible. A must read for every mom (and dad) who want to give their kids (and feed their kids) the very best our beautiful earth has to offer!

This book is about not only your diet as in what you eat, but she also expands the "au natural" philosophy into every life aspect. I would have like to see more on diet and less on the rest of life. The part I find strange is that she is clearly writing to a female audience. Why would she do that, limiting the audience of her message? Frequent mentions of cosmetics and female lubrication clearly indicate a female audience.

I love this book! I love how in reading it, I did not feel pushed into a certain way of eating but rather encouraged to eat WHOLE foods. Ms. Telpner has a humorous common sense way of making you take a hard look at your diet and question why you eat what you eat. Her personal story with health issues and food are inspiring and certainly encouraging to others. But in addition, this is a colorful fun book not just a well-informed read. The food photos, recipes and how -tos are easy to understand. Ms. Telpner is extremely well-informed and yet has written an easy to read, easy to incorporate into daily living book. If you are looking for a nutrtition book that is entertaining as well as informative, this is it!

    Speed course in Nutrition

As a current student in holistic nutrition, I am wow-ed by the amount of information Meghan has been able to provide in her book - 'Undiet'.

I wish I would have been able to have this book on my desk from my first day at school onwards. It explains so many mechanisms we've discussed over the past year so much clearer than when they were first explained to me. This is what makes this book a total winner to me; it will come in handy when starting of my own practice, gaining the self-esteem and finding my own voice, by having Undiet as a guide while explaining a lot of health issues to my future clients!

Meghan's personal story is very honest, touching and inspiring, and throughout this book she knows how to speak to YOU - the reader. Her writing style is fun and engaging, and helps you to boost your self-esteem and to motivate you to start your journey.

A journey towards OWNING your health. A journey that will be guided by your intuition, with the knowledge what 'real food' truly is.

This book is jam-packed with "juicy a-ha bits of info", yummy, pretty, easy and package-free recipes (I wouldn't have mind some more recipes in the book), personal pictures, super clarifying tables with information - all slathered in Meghan's bright energy and joyful colours. Undiet is a work of knowledge and passion to return to over and over again.

You'll feel tempted to read it in one go, but take it easy! There is SO much to learn and achieve, try to implement small changes as you go.

Change your mindset concerning calorie-counting, as Meghan clearly explains the flaws in this method. And when feeling overwhelmed while getting groceries,
remember her rule: "When in doubt, keep it out!".

I highly recommend this book, as it proves to be a joy to the eye, mind, body and your healthy future.

I've been following Meghan through her blog for years. As such, I wasn't sure if I really "needed" this book. I was wrong.

This is a grown-up and polished Meghan - though not too grown up. She did manage to slip in a reference to "poo-juice"! Even the familiar is presented in a fresh, fun way. New, beautiful photos are mixed with photos from her website. Standard "Meghan" recipes are updated for the book. Hooray for veggie rice wraps in all their delicious variations!

Meghan is the perfect cheerleader for anyone wanting to make positive changes in their life. She encourages you to take things at your own pace, and on your own terms. Break the rules. Yes, there are non-negotiables, but Meghan doesn't dwell on them. Rather, she emphasizes all the amazing things you can have and do while living the life of your dreams.

This book is truly a breath of fresh air! Meghan tells it like it is while holding your hand through the process of making healthy life changes down the road to vibrant health. This book is not about counting calories, it's about making healthy choices and giving our bodies what they need by eating whole and delicious foods. From meal prep and food waste to healthy body and home care the UnDiet covers every aspect of life and Meghan acts as a cheerleader as she guides each reader through the chapters. Believe it when people say this book is inspirational!
Meghan's honest voice and fun personality shines through this book. She covers much more than food here; body care, home care, self care, and my ultimate favorite part, a breakdown of food additives and what they do to the body! It's a frightening list, but so incredibly helpful to fully understand why a switch to whole foods makes such a difference.
This book gives you baby steps to guide you on the path to living a healthier life and gives you the encouragement to keep with it.
Lovely, fun book, definitely recommending to everyone.

Meghan is easy to relate to, while also being an amazing cheerleader for breaking down barriers to reach your optimum health. Since last summer, I have been on a health journey of sorts to try and heal myself from multiple allergies that I have mysteriously developed. I came across Meghan Telpner's blog, and since then, she has been an invaluable resource in my healing! This book helps to put everything she teaches in one place where you can read it all again and again! The thing I love most about this book is how EASY it truly is. It's not another gimmicky diet book - it's about going back to basics and eating REAL food. And besides food, Meghan gives great tips to incorporate other lifestyle changes like exercise, drinking more water, ditching the chemicals in your beauty products, and helping the planet. This really resonates with me because once you start looking at where your food comes from and what's in it, it follows that you want to help the planet and make a difference. That's why it's not at all out of place in an UnDiet book!

And for those who have a multitude of excuses about why they can't incorporate these changes - exercise, get back in the kitchen, etc., Meghan has the answers taken care of already so that this lifestyle is accessible for everyone.

I have already bought several copies of this book for family and friends, and hope that Meghan's fun, approachable way of teaching helps them to make some much-needed lifestyle changes. This is one revolution the world desperately needs!

As a holistic nutritionist I’m always on the lookout for new alternative health and wellness books and I have to admit I was incredibly excited for the release of Meghan Telpner’s Undiet: Eat Your Way to Vibrant Health.
This book is a game changer. It’s completely inspiring, totally authentic, the writing sings, and the research is solid. Most importantly, however, Meghan encourages her readers to take responsibility for their own state of health by reconnecting with the foods they put inside their bodies and listening to how those food choices make them feel. This book educates and empowers by demonstrating just how easy and attainable healthy living truly is if you take small steps every day towards your overall goals. Meghan’s plan goes far beyond diet and segues naturally into a connection of mind, body, and soul to create a picture of joyful living that anyone would want to manifest. Undiet is a necessity for anyone frustrated by conventional health and nutrition and looking to take action to create a better body and life. It will have a place of honour on my bookshelf and will be the book I recommend to clients when they ask me where to start on their journey. As she says, we can either build health or disease, and with this book as a guide you will joyfully choose to build health every day for the rest of your abundant and beautiful days.
Some specifics about the book I thoroughly enjoyed were:
    1. The inclusion of a sort of "cheat sheet" at the end of every chapter that summed up the key ideas and actions that had been covered.
    2. Each chapter ended with delicious recipes that corresponded once again to the topic of said chapter.
    3. The photography is beautiful and includes many authentic day-to-day shots of Meghan and her friends and family living joyfully.
    4. The writing is captivating, honest, hilarious, and informative without being preachy. You will tear through this book.
    5. Meghan included practical tips for slowly but surely overhauling your pantry and by extension, your life.
If you do yourself one favour in 2013, it should be to buy this very important and incredibly inspiring book!

Undiet is so simple and tangible, and yet revolutionary. As someone who has struggled with my weight and health for years, I cannot begin to express my gratitude to Meghan Telpner, her team and this book. Meghan's holistic approach reminds us that making lasting change requires taking inventory of our life and the choices we've made advertently and inadvertently to this point. The best part is, it really is an "undiet", there is no calorie counting or obsessing about portion size, and the book is full of easy delicious recipes that truly satisfy any craving. Beyond that there are other helpful tips and topics covered like how to organize your fridge and prep for the week, including a gorgeous large photo of the contents in her inspiring fridge. The biggest take away for me after reading this book is being mindful of what I put in and on my body. This book is about building and celebrating health and having fun while doing it, I love it and refer back to it often.
