Library Journal
While numerous books are available on male sexual health (e.g., Bernie Zilbergeld's The New Male Sexuality , LJ 6/1/92), this book is specifically written to help women help men with sexual dysfunction. About 40 percent of adult American men experience a sexual dysfunction at some time in their lives, and the most common types of dysfunctions are described here, along with practical solutions and exercises. Advice on when to seek professional help is also included. This new work from sex therapist Margolies, director of the Center for Sexual Recovery in New York City and author of four other books (e.g., The Motherhood Report , LJ 6/15/87), deals matter-of-factly but sensitively with the subject. Perhaps the book's real value is as a vehicle to develop understanding, empathy, and compassion for men suffering from sexual dysfunction. Essential for human sexuality and health collections. Previewed in Prepub Alert, LJ 2/1/94.-- Dana L. Brumbelow, Auburn P . L ., Ala .
