He’s spent more than a century building an Enclave of warrior vampires who have sworn to defend humanity against his evil sire and her minions. Emily Ross just wanted a fresh start. She’s a survivor, coming off the tail end of an abusive relationship, and craves time alone to learn who she is and to save the home that holds her heart. The last thing she needed was a controlling, alpha male calling all the shots.

Meeting Kenric might just have changed her mind, though. He is wrong for her in all the right ways. But in order to keep her heart from breaking, he first has to keep the hordes of evil vamps from stealing her very breath.

In Undying Destiny, Kendric St. James is a master vampire that runs the Enclave, which includes other Enclave warrior vampires. Their goal? Protecting humans from the vampires that have no control and who ravage unsuspecting people. For Kendric, this job is his life. At the same time, Marguerite, the vampire who turned him is now also after him. She's hell bent on having him be mated with her so that she can share in his power. She has now tracked him down and has been sending attacks his way.

One night, as he's injured in the road, Emily Ross, a nurse runs into him. She helps him and that literally changes her life.

The characters are great. I love that we can see the hurt and turmoil that has occurred in Emily's life. My favorite part is how Kendric is this huge, domineering, alpha male vampire but at the same time can be the most gentle, caring and freeing person in the world. They click and work together. Their chemistry is off the charts. And Kendric will do anything to save her and I love that.

Secondary characters are also developed and I have a particular soft spot for the Scottish Enclave warriors. What can I say, I'm a sucker for the accents. Anyway, while the character developments were fantastic, I felt that the story was too predictable. Even when there was danger, I didn't feel it. Everything happens just like you think it will. It just felt too much like it was just a set up for the upcoming books in the series. Saying that, I feel like the upcoming books will be a lot better since the set up is already done and now we can go on and delve more into "what happens next?"

Definitely check this one out if you are a fan of vampires, especially sexy, protective and awesome ones like Kendric. =)

In Undying Destiny we follow the story of Kenric St. James and Emily Ross. Kenric is a master vampire and the head of The Enclave. Emily a ER nurse finds herself on the wrong side of town and happens upon a wounded Kenric. She has him taken to the ER where he wakes and must feed quickly. From this point on there is a struggle as an Alpha falls in love with a very a women who is very over alpha men in general. Kenric’s very upset sire plays a huge roll in pushing them together on accident.  Will they be able to defend humans while still protect their home? Will Marquerite get what she wants and destroy everything that Kenric has created? Will Emily be able to work through their issues?

I found that I liked the dreams that Kenric has and the family of warriors that he created. I think a lot of information was left out and I wanted more details. I look forward to seeing that else this author has in store for this story.

Undying Destiny started of very angry, and that made it a bit hard for me to get into.  While it was descriptive enough to make me “feel” the anger of the character, it made me hesitant to read further.  By chapter six, it seems to be nothing more than a knock-off of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series.  Although the details were different, the concept is the same…a group of warrior vampires living and working together to protect the vampire and human civilians.  If you’ve read the BDB series you will immediately see that even the scenarios in the book are very similar, making it hard to want to continue reading what feels like a copy cat.
The difference here is Kenric’s sexually charged, tyrannical sire that will do anything and everything in her power to regain control of him.  Her sadistic ego cannot allow her to accept that he escaped her clutches, and she wants him back.
After about chapter 8 it was easier for me to get into the story and care about the characters. Yet in the end  instead of having the feel of a cliff hanger, Undying Destiny felt like more of a letdown. For me there was no edge of my seat excitement in fight scenes, and even though the love scenes were steamy, it was not enough for me rate this book any more than a 1 star read.

    Great Paranormal Read!

Kenric St. James is a vampire on a mission for revenge against the vampire that turned him and murdered the woman he loved. He has spent decades creating the Enclave, a group of vampires whose only mission is to keep humans safe from his kind. Enter Emily, a nurse with guts an attitude, who threatens to steal Kenric’s heart, something he vowed would NEVER happen again. Unfortunately, the vampires that turned Kenric has decided she is not finished with him yet and attempts to use Emily as a pawn in her evil plans.

This is a real action story, filled with good vamps and bad, along with some spicy sensual romance, and a wonderful collection of characters, all well-defined and colorfully animated!

This book is well edited and planned out with fast pace and detailed scenes, everything ties up nicely and there's a way left for more books in the future. Great paranormal reading!

Undying Destiny by Jessica Lee is a provocative tale filled with lust and rage and loyalty. Living as a vampire for three centuries after being unwilling turned by a vampire who will stop at nothing to get what she wants, Kenric St. James lives his life to put an end to her. Marguerite is an immensely powerful and power hungry vamp who uses blood and sex to have everyone dropping to her feet to do her bidding, except for Kenric. Kenric would give her the ultimate amount of power and she has big plans for him. That is, until Emily comes along.
Emily, the sweet human who has had a rough life and seems to have the worst luck with men. Of course Emily stumbles upon a vampire that needs her help and she cannot resist her nature to help others. Kenric and Emily find themselves on a brutal path that neither one of them knows how to navigate, where they will end up or if they should just continue to deny what lies deep inside them.
Now, Marguerite is on the war path to permanently remove Emily from the picture, but Kenric refuses to let her win again.
Undying Destiny was a fantastic read with its vivid imagery, witty dialogue, troubled characters, and the intensity between Emily and Kenric. I give 4 ½ stars and a highly recommend if you like paranormal romances that touch on secret wantings and devilishly handsome heroes.

I cannot wait to see what comes next for the Enclave!

Undying Destiny was fantastic! I have read a lot of paranormal romance this year, and this was easily one of my favorites. I read it in one day, leaving my kids to eat lunchables and cereal all day because I did not want to put the book down!

The story begins introducing us to Kenric, who was unwilling turned into a vampire 300 years ago and is leader of the Enclave. He is all of the things we love in our leading men, handsome, strong, companionate....and a vampire! Emily Ross is a feisty nurse who is trying to get he life back together after a childhood of abuse and just leaving an abusive relationship. One fateful night on her way into work, she comes across Kenric lying in the street unconscious. Those of us who love the vampire genre, this is one of the better ones for sure. It is well written with great character development, There were other characters in the book, like Ell and Arran that I would love to hear more from...maybe a spin off novel?:) I don't want to give anything away because the story was so good, but I would recommend this book to anyone, it was that good!

Jessica Lee did an excellent job of balancing the perfect amount of romance and action leaving me wanting more!

Way to start a book. This book jumps you right into the action.

Way to start a book. This book jumps you right into the action.

Long story short, Kenric St. James is a master vampire from 1700's England and originator of the group called the Enclave. The Enclave is the group of vampires that protect humans from the bad vampires. Kenric was kidnapped, raped, and turned by a female vampire 300 years prior; once he escaped he vowed to defend humanity and revenge against the one who brutalized him and stole his humanity. Kenric has been alone personally since that time until he runs into nurse Emily who saves him and ends up being is soul mate.

Overall, great story and over arching story for the series. I liked the fact that this book showed a male being a victim of a female despite the misconception and stigma that surround those types of situations in our modern society. One aspect of the story I personally did not like was the premise that by dint of nature and general rule, female vampires were weaker than male vampires. I know the author had this premise to support the mating and bonding aspect she goes into, but I didn't care for it. Also at one point, Emily does something I personally found weak and morally reprehensible but Kenric forgives her.

However, there are many points and aspects to the story and some interesting characters that as a reader I want to know more about. Arron is one of the characters and I want the story between him and Markus, him and Logan, and him and Elle. Michael is a human helping them and his backstory would be interesting to know as well.

Kenric St. James heads an elite squad of "good" vampires who fight the "bad" vampires lead by an evil queen.
Emily Ross is a human nurse who helps Kenric when he is badly injured in a vamp fight.
This is an OK story but as the description I just gave you tells, it's pretty much the same formula that's been done before. Hot, sexy, good vamp finds beautiful, human, soul mate and together they must battle the evil vamps so they can live happily "forever" after.

Jessica Lee is a “new to me” author but won my attention with this book. I shall be looking for future installments of The Enclave series and will be checking out her back list.
Undying Destiny tells the tale of Kenric St. James. Kenric is a 300 year old vampire. He was turned against his will by a now 600 year old female vampire who wanted him for her mate and to increase her power. He escaped her clutches and formed The Enclave a group of warrior vampires dedicated to keeping humans safe and safeguarding the secret of vampire existence. When he is hurt in an attack he is rushed to the hospital by an unknowing human female nurse named Emily Ross who may just be what this old vampire needs to live again.
Fans of Lara Adrian’s Breed series will love this book. Alpha males, smart sassy women, love, hate, jealousy, mystery, intrigue, loyalty and treachery this story has it all. This is a series to watch.

Undying Destiny - by Jessica Lee

Hello Kenric St. James, you may growl at me any time...

It has been a while since I've sat down and read paranormal romance. It has been a little longer since I've sunk my teeth (pun intended) into a paranormal romance of any sort of depth that managed to hold my attention for any length of time. My, oh my, this book was the PERFECT fit to return to after a brief hiatus from the paranormal world!

The novel is fast-paced and engaging. We are drawn into vampire Kenric St. James' complex world immediately through a dream. It is that dream we are introduced to Marguerite, an ancient obsessed that is not only obsessed with Kenric, but also wants him to join with her so they will be a force to be reckoned with. The dream is also important, as we get a look at Kenric's past and what has made him the man/vampire he is today & it also gives great insight into Marguerite's mental stability and character as the plot thickens.

And the plot does thicken, quite a lot and quite well too. Enter the Enclave. Enter Emily the nurse with an attitude that made me smile. Yes, the plot thickens! The men of the Enclave also grow interesting too... such as Guerin, who seems to know how to push Kenric's buttons just right & Arran, a loner with a soft heart.

Along with phenomenal character development comes not only an engaging action packed read, but also a sexy and steamy read too. (Did I mention the book contains alpha males?) I enjoyed the book immensely and felt a great kinship with the characters. In fact, this is the type of book that could easily develop into more and I would be delighted to see more from not only Jessica Lee, but also to hear more about the Enclave!

Kenric St. James is a vampire on a mission. He is a leader of vampire warriors called The Enclave that helps protect humans from deranged vampires who are addicted to bloodlust. After being ruthlessly turned against his will by an evil, sadistic woman, he’s vowed to never take a mate. One fight and a hospital visit changes the course of his life forever.
Emily Ross is a nightshift nurse at the local hospital. One night on her way to work, she comes across Kenric lying helplessly on the ground. Thinking he’s simply a homeless man that’s been injured, she patches his wounds and calls for the paramedics. Turns out this chance meeting is all it takes for her life to be forever changed.
Kenric is scared to let her into their world, but knows that he needs her help to wipe away any and all of his existence to the general public. Emily agrees but by doing so, places them in close proximity and untimely sparks begin to fly between the two. Emily has been hurt so much in her past that she’s afraid of her feelings for Kenric. Kenric also shares deep scars from his past but together they can erase the hurt and destroy the insane vampires who plan to destroy Kenric’s and Emily’s newfound love.
I really enjoyed this story and was interested from page 1. I loved the interaction between Kenric and Emily. Two tortured spirits who found love is right up my alley in terms of a good romance story. Marguerite was an okay villain. However, I’m more interested in seeing what pans out with her newfound helper (I don’t want to spoil the story, let’s just say there is a huge betrayal in the mix). The writing is wonderful and honestly makes me want an Enclave warrior of my own. I can’t wait to read the next book.

I was given a copy of this book for an honest review and I honestly loved it. Kenric is a vampire and Emily is a human. I love romance and vampires, so I really loved Kenric and Emily's romance. When Kenric was hurt, he was brought to the er where Emily works as a nurse. When he woke up, he realized he needed to drink because he was weak, so he drank some of Emily's blood and that was it, he was a goner. He only thought he knew what love was. He soon realized that he was in love with Emily, of course it is not just that simple. We have the evil vampiress Marguerite, who was his sire, who keeps playing mind games with Kenric because she wants to mate with him. When she finds out about Emily, she tries to kill her. There is enough drama and action scenes and of course sex scenes to keep you wanting to read the story. To find out what happens, you need to read it for yourself, you wont be disappointed. But you truly need to like vampires and not be offended by sex. There is so much more to this story but to say anymore would give it all away. So just take a chance

In a word- marvelous, and even that doesn’t quite fit the bill, what is greater than marvelous?  This is a wonderful book, filled with everything that would make a book great.

The characters pull you into their world. With the first page through the end, you’re transported on a journey of love and jealousy, mystery and intrigue, loyalty and treachery. It examines the depths of abuse and opens your heart to hope, the kind that true love can only bring.

Kenric’s master vampire status is craved by his sire- Marguerite. The power he would bring to her is unimaginable, and she’s in the ‘gotta have him’ frame of mind. Emily and Kenric find each other by chance. That chance meeting enter twines their lives at a time when they both need it. While Kenric knows what Marguerite wants, his heart belongs to Emily and it’s time for Marguerite’s power plays to end. Emily and Kenric’s story is filled with plenty of that sizzle of a new romance. While the trials of the world surround them, their budding relationship grows.

This story is truly a spell binder. It’s impossible to put down. The more you read, the more you’re drawn in and you want to find out more. Your mind’s eye conjures up the visual images so brilliantly written by Jessica Lee. Undying Destiny is definitely a must read for any paranormal genre fan.

For over 300 years Kenric St. James has dreamed of revenge on the vampire that turned him and murdered his fiance. Careful to never show in interest in any woman, Kenric has lived a lonely existence until the spit fire nurse known as Emily Ross saves his life.

Now his sire has returned and more powerful than before. With his new unavoidable attraction to Emily, it puts a big target on her head.

The more Kenric tries to protect Emily the more she seems to resent his protection. Emily has suffered abuse from the men in her life and has come to a point that she won't tolerate it anymore. Can Kenric convince Emily that he isn't like all the other men before it is too late?

Undying Destiny was a fast paced, easy, enjoyable story. The characters, especially the Enclave, provide great anticipation for the books that can follow. If you like strong alpha males, spirited women and a good paranormal romance you are going to really savor Undying Desting.
