Overview

Blair is looking for an escape.
West is looking for a connection.
One down and out woman. One isolated rock star. Life at the top is lonely, but so is life at the bottom.

Blair is just looking for someone to take the edge off her crappy life. Dull the pain, breathe a little life into her neglected body. A chance meeting at a bar leads to a night of passion. No names, no personal details. Just sex.
Well, it wasn't personal until she sees the guy standing on a stage ten meters in front of her. How the hell didn't she realize that the guy who blew her mind is the guitarist out of that dirty rock 'n' roll band, Affliction? And why is he chasing her down the street? And how does he know her name?
Sometimes you find the things you didn't even know you were looking for in the most unexpected places.

Meet the Author

Amity Cross isn't my real name. That's no secret. I didn't want my Mum and my workplace to find out I wrote about doodles and tongue-in-cheek sexual innuendo. I live in a leafy suburb of Melbourne writing about screwed up relationships and kick ass female leads that don't take s**t lying down.

Emotional and captivating, The Unexpected Trilogy grabs you at the cove page and doesn't let you go until the very last page and even then you are left with wanting more! The Unexpected Trilogy is an unforgettable, beautiful, lovely story about an imperfect love that despite all the obstacles, it could lead to the most amazing thing. Amity Cross has the ability to make her characters become real and you feel every emotion that they are going through. Blair and West have a sizzling-hot chemistry that is so freaking hot, you'll be left in a puddle of lust. This trilogy is intense, painful, and very much alive.

I absolutely loved this book. The story line was good the sex was amazing and West is freakin sex on a stick and Blair is a beautiful spitfire who kept me laughing out loud. The chemistry between them is off the charts hot! The book is only 94 pages but well worth it. It sets up enough of the story to make you want to keep going. I highly recommend this book to everyone.

Never dull. Lots of sex and alpha personalities. I like a strong female lead.

I'd never heard of Amity Cross until a request for review for a blog tour came in and the blurb intrigued me. When I looked 'Unexpected' up on Amazon the warning; This book is EROTIC ROMANCE and contains a lot of descriptive sex, strong language, lickable rock stars and one a** kicking female lead, sold me completely so I signed up! So, did it match up to the blurb and warning expectations I had? In many ways yes…………………….. I liked her writing style, the book is full of profanity and descriptive sex but doesn't feel superfluous or overdone. Her characters are warts and all real, I particularly like Blair - a sassy smart a$$ who takes no sh*t off anyone - my type of gal! How the hell didn't she realize that the guy who blew her mind is the guitarist out of that dirty rock'n'roll band, Affliction? And why is he chasing her down the street? And how does he know her name? Sometimes you find the things you didn't even know you were looking for in the most unexpected places. When Blair and West meet she just wants to scratch an itch and escape real life for a while so even though it's phenomenal and the chemistry is off the charts hot it's just a f*** nothing more, nothing less. She doesn't expect to come face to face to him when attending a concert, and sure as hell doesn't expect him to chase her! She's feisty, sassy, rude and abrupt - but the exterior is hiding the lonely girl wanting a purpose to life and someone to share it with while never believing that’s a reality she will have. West is the bad boy rocker who has addiction issues, at times he's a p***k you want to stab and then at others he's so vulnerable and broken you want the glue to put him back together. From that first night he feels a connection he wants to explore with Blair. Left high and dry but with a plan to seek her out he's surprised to see her at the concert but determined to take advantage of an opportunity. Dark and Dangerous & Wildcat do not have a perfect rock star god meets pretty girl story. It's rocky, it's broken completely in places and it was a page turner all the way through with no skimming. So why a 4 star not 5 star read? The foreplay was phenomenal, an orgasm was had but no multiples!!! The last part of the book felt rushed, tied up with a pretty bow, but did a disservice to the rest I felt - it left me a little "meh, was that it?" as opposed to "OMFG". It's a good book and I’d read more by this author. I love the unapologetic characters, I love the profanity, I love the hot sex, I just needed a little more for the finale and that multiple......

Fun quick read. Worth the hour spent in a rock star fantasy.

I was very surprised by this story. It was really good. Romance between two people isn't always lovey dovey but that doesn't mean it's not worth it. It's only like 90 pgs but worth it.

Really? 97 pages? Can't anyone write a full length book?

It should be noted that this is not a full book. It is part one. It is only 91 pages long. I do not feel it is worth the money.

Book Worms was given this book as an ARC for an honest review. Book Worms gave this book 4.5 Stars. (rounded up of course:0) ) Heather a Book Worms reviewer left this review.  Thank you Heather.  Holy cow....4.5 stars all the way!!! Due to language, and strong sexual content this book is meant for readers who are 18+. If you don't like books with a lot of foul language, and hot sex then this is probably not the book for you. But if you love a hot read with a sexy rock star then what are you waiting for? This is so a book for you!  How do you change how you see yourself? Its one thing Blair wonders about. But in her mind she knows who she is. She's a nobody. She willingly admits that she is messed up. She's broken. Blair doesn't do relationships, one night only is her rule. That way she can't get hurt. She leaves before they leave her, because everyone leaves her. But what will happen when Blair meets her match. In every way but one?  Jake West is a rock star. He's had the life. The women, drugs, and money. But it all fell apart. Now 6 months sober he's found what he was always trying to find with all those other women. A connection. To bad Blair is fighting him every step of the way, and his manager wants her gone. West knows what he wants and he wants Blair and he's willing to fight to get her, and fight to keep her. But what will happen when he has to leave for the next tour? He will be leaving Blair just like everyone else has. Can their new and tentative relationship make it, or will Blair run and leave West before he can leave her?  Ok I admit at the start of this book I was uncertain where it was going. The thoughts that Blair had honestly made me want to cry that anyone could see themselves that way. But after her first encounter with West I knew she was going to have a fight on her hands. This was a fantastic book. I loved everything about this book! The only area I struggled was it took awhile to find out why Blair felt the way she did. I felt like I couldn't really connect with her till I knew why she sees herself as broken. Hence the 4.5 stars, but other than that it was great! And honestly who doesn't love a yummy rock star! This is the first book in this series and must be read before the second one! I can't wait for the second book to see where West's and Blair's relationship goes! I hope you take the time to read this one, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! Happy reading!
