Meet the Author

Mary Stanton began her writing career with one of the most-beloved beast fables of our time; THE HEAVENLY HORSE FROM THE OUTERMOST WEST. She loves writing for younger audiences and loves writing about magic but, after the YA fantasy series The Unicorns of Balinor appeared in 1999, she spent most of her career in the adult mystery field. She is the author of the popular Inn at Hemlock Falls series (as Claudia Bishop), and the paranormal mystery series BEAUFORT & COMPANY.

Mary spends half of the year on her farm in upstate New York, and the other half in a small house in Florida. Many of the Unicorns in Balinor are based on horses that Mary has owned and loved for years. www.marystanton.com

This book is exciting to read. The good thing about this book is that it is so magical and funny. The story keeps going on from one book to the next. Another great this about this book is that if you did not read the book before this one, you can still understand what has happend in the story. The author gives you some information that you somehow can visualize so you can follow the story. The positives and negatives of the book: Positives: it gets you anticipated for the next chapter every time and you can't wait to find out what happens after one chapter after the next. There are so many characters to get involved with and you can picture them all vividly that it makes you want to get in there with them all and find out what each one of them is all about. Even after reading this book, it draws you in so much that it makes you want to read what happens in the next book and even in the books before it. Negatives: When you get to the end of the book, you will need to buy the next book and it leaves you on a serious cliffhanger and it doesn't give any closure what so ever. There wasn't anything really wrong with the book. I can't think of anything that I can say negatively about this. I recomend this book because it has so many positive qulaities and it is re-readable. It has great morals and enlightens you fully. The writing style of this book, written by, Mary Stanton, is done in a magical adventerous type. It draws you in whith whimsey, humor, and mystery. Other books she has written are, ' The road to balinor", 'Sunchaser's Quest", "Valley of fear", 'By Fire, by Moonlight", and 'Search for the Star".
