Molly's Reviews - Molly Martin
Superb Read Highly recommended 5 stars

Unicorns' Opal is another in the exceptional series produced by talented writer Richard Tuttle. Tuttle’s quick wit, unprecedented use of words and fertile imagination all serve him well in crafting works of singular interest. Writer Tuttle sets lusty, creditable characters against a backdrop of spectacle, resonance and redolence. Tuttle’s characters are all beset with the foibles of us all.

Meet the Author

Richard S. Tuttle started writing epic fantasy in 1997 with the release of the Targa Trilogy, a short series that introduces the heroes of the Alcea Collection. In 1998, he started an ambitious project of creating two separate and distinct series. The Sword of Heavens series continued the saga of the Alcea Collection with the next generation of heroes. It consists of 7 volumes and was completed in 2003. Simultaneously, he created the Forgotten Legacy series, an unrelated 8-volume tale of magic and mystery set in a new and varied world. The Forgotten Legacy series was completed in 2004.

In 2005, Richard created a 2-volume miniseries, Complement for a King. The series chronicles a gripping tale of a world where magic has become a consuming force, and focuses on three young princes who must strive to restore equilibrium to a world gone awry.

Starting in 2006, Richard spent 4 years on a 7-volume addition to the Alcea Collection, writing the Demonstone Chronicles. The series pits a recovering Alcea against a massive mysterious enemy that the Alceans are unaware of. The Demonstone Chronicles was completed in 2009.

Richard spent all of 2010 recording the Alcea Collection and releasing it in various audio book formats.

    Great development

Wonderfully written continuation of the first book in the series. I love the many dimensions of each character. Moving on to book three now.

    Awesome series so far!!!!

I was looking for free books to read when I came across the first book of this series. Once I started reading I was instantly hooked! I bought the second book and could not put it down. I cannot stop there. I want to find out what happens with the characters. I already have my own suspensions, but I want to see if I am right. I cannot wait to see what happens next!!

    Hooked

I started with book one, and I was hooked, I bought all the books and read them from start to finish. They are well written, and yes you know that of course each book is going to be going after a gem for the sword, but the characters you meet, you fall in love with and start to root for them.

    Pretty Good

I just finished the entire series. Every book was fairly similar in style and ease to read. It is not the best writing in the world, but it is entertaining. If you like book 1, grab the entire series. The ending won't WOW you, but once you get going, you will probably want to know how this finishes.

    Good read

Book 2 in the series with an excellent prologue that catches the reader up to this book. Very enjoyable characers. Good plot development and suitable for early teens and up.
