Overview

A red-haired man named Jabez Wilson suddenly received a surprisingly easy and money-making job from the Red Union, as he was told, because of the unique color of his hair. For several weeks Jabez Wilson came to work in a small isolated office and in a few hours a day rewrote the British Encyclopedia. But one day he saw an announcement that the Red Union had broken up and the sinecure was gone. Wilson asks Holmes to help him understand this strange story and find out what happened.
