Have you ever contemplated the cause of the universe beyond simply attributing it to God or The Big Bang? If so, in that causal contemplation, have you ever entertained the idea that the universe is but a dream? Which is to say, have you ever considered that the cause of the universe is that you dreamt it up? At first glance, the idea that you dreamt up the universe perhaps seems implausible. However, what if you really took that idea seriously and followed it to its logical conclusion? What would you discover? Well, this book answers that question. In The Universe in a Dream, Alex Marchand covers all the bases in providing an insightful and clearly presented articulation on the meaning and practice of A Course in Miracles. With cleverly drawn cartoons, witty humor and clear honesty, the pages come to life with simple easy-to-follow thoughts and insights. Alex cleverly devised a system of recognizable cartoon symbols representing various aspects of the A Course in Miracles metaphysics which are used in many combination to greatly simplify the understanding of what these principles mean. This book is profoundly educational and often-times hilarious. Not just for beginners, but suitable for all A Course in Miracles students and practitioners, this book is more than just `well worth a read`, it will transform and inform your understanding of what ACIM is all about and helps you to really get the purpose of it, which is to apply proper forgiveness in order to undo the illusion of separation, and ultimately realize the universe is just a dream. Way to go Alex, this is the kind of book that you want to give to lots of other people because it's so good!

This book is a graphic art piece, what I would call a 'comic book'. But the contents are less to entertain and more to educate and reveal. And the subtitle is spot on! Alex Marchand has taken a light-hearted look at the serious topic of why we are here and what we are here to do on this planet Earth. He begins with explaining some 'heavy' topics about physics in a way that I could easily understand. Then he begins to explain a metaphysical thought system that really makes me think...alot, even. if you are familiar with the work of Dr Helen Schucman and her associate, Dr Bill Thetford, then the ideas in this book will make sense to you. This book acts as an amazing introduction to their work. It is a way of looking at the world in a 180º different way. It is mind-exploding, to say the least. It is more than an introduction, as it can stand on its own merit to amaze and inform. Yet, Alex uses his fine graphics and his subtle sense of humor to teach complex ideas in a very helpful way. He uses cultural icons like Marilyn Monroe and the band, Nirvana, for example, to make finer points. The humor allows the reader to absorb the deeper points of the material much more readily. And Alex still keeps very close to the original material concepts from Drs Helen and Bill. I believe that this book will become very popular with the younger crowds who are asking the basic life searching questions. This time, they will find answers that really answer their deepest self queries. With fun, too. What a concept! I am very grateful to Alex for writing/designing/drawing this profound work. He adds reason and logic and humor to a sometimes difficult thought system to comprehend. I heartily recommend this easy-to-enjoy book that will change your life, undoubtedly, forever. Ready to go there? I know you are. Peace and joy and love to you, reader!

A big big thank you to Alex for putting together this amazing book on such a LOFTY subject - our Reality - and keeping it so simple and easy to read.. Its written in comic book form in GOoD humour shedding 'Light' on the principles 'A Course In Miracles'. Alex is Inspiring in getting across to the reader his message of dissolving the untruths of what most believe to be the truth of our existance. His message is uncompromising alike to that of Kenneth Wapknick and Gary Renard both advanced Course teachers, but with simplistic cartoon use to depict his message. As one reads the book the same principles keep returning to give allow deeper understanding and clarity of the message of true forgiveness. A must for all A Course In Miracles students, both older students and newer ones and for anyone who has an interest in waking up or spirituality or who enjoy's reading comic's. I have always found it difficult to finish any book, with Alex's i'm half way through my second read, finding it very refreshing and do see myself going back again and again to instill the truth of our existance deep into my psyche.

The Big Picture of Reality ... in Graphic Novel Form Finding answers to big questions about the nature of reality in a graphic novel may seem unlikely ... until you read "The Universe is a Dream." Author Alexander Marchand describes nondualism in ways that are simultaneously fun and easy to comprehend, while treating the subject with appropriate respect. "The Universe is a Dream" is a refreshing primer on a topic that is seldom discussed--let alone taught in western schools--despite the fact that when considered as a philosophical premise, nondualism has much to offer people seeking an end to suffering. The key to ending suffering, as Marchand points out, is to identify oneself with the Oneness, rather than with one's ego. In a nutshell, this is what "The Universe is a Dream" is all about. Because many of the ideas presented in "The Universe is a Dream" challenge most westerner's beliefs, this book suggests continuing with lifelong study of the concepts of nonduality as presented in "A Course in Miracles" in order to help people gradually improve their sense of who they really are in relationship to the universe. Those who have already intuited and recognized the nature of nondualism and are walking through the world in nondual reality will likely find this book refreshingly entertaining and validating. "The Universe is a Dream" is a marvelous tool for delving into metaphysical topics in ways that produce numerous "Aha!" moments, and surely that was the reason it was created as a graphic novel in the first place. Thanks to the combination of visual images and words, all parts of a reader's mind are engaged while contemplating every page -- and the simplistic cartoon images provide reference points by which readers can later recall the ideas and examples presented in the book. "The Universe is a Dream" is the perfect book for anyone suspecting they might be ready to wake up from the limited viewpoint of ego perspective into the wide, wonderful world of Oneness consciousness. Highly recommended!
