Overview

Capoeira, a fascinating hybrid of martial art, game, and dance, has long captivated practitioners in all those areas of interest worldwide. Originating in Brazil, the form has been traced back to the 16th century, created and developed by slaves brought from Africa. Written by a legendary master, Unknown Capoeira examines the form as the complete martial art, including its history, music, dance, and folklore. The game, or jogo, at capoeira’s center is presented in close detail, including demonstrations of the graceful moves and gravity-defying acrobatics that make up this rhythmical dance-fight in the roda, a circle made of capoeiristas within which capoeira is performed.

Designed as a comprehensive resource of linked information and techniques, so that the capoeirista or the researcher can benefit most from reading the whole book, Unknown Capoeira features special sections that outline the objective of each technique, how to practice each technique alone, the main points of impact, and the defense and counterattack strategies. The book is intended for capoeiristas of all skill levels.

Written by well-known Brazilian con artist

This book is written by a well-known Brazilian con artist whose real name is Ricardo Reinprecht, who duped several people back in Brazil for millions of dollars while he was the president of a publishing house called Axcel Books (try googling this name to see), being currently in unknown location and hiding from Brazilian justice. This book was written so he could get some money while in hiding.

As for capoeira, he hasn't practiced this art since the late 1970's/early 1980's, so it is at least suspicious why someone that hasn't practiced capoeira for the past 30 years decided to write a book about the subject.

As for the book, all illustrations were done by Ingo Bertelli, who was also scammed and wasn't paid a dime for the job.

Please, do not buy this book. By buying this book you are helping a criminal to stay afloat.

Buying this book, you are supporting a villain.

    Hello everybody!
I would like to leave my comment here about the author of this book.
Mr. Ricardo is a fugitive from justice in Brazil. I believe there are people in Brazil more competent to speak on this subject. So do not waste time buying this book, because the best "art" that he can do is lie and cheat ... I think you're going to throw money away ... Try to find out about it on the Internet: (simply search on google for Ricardo Reinprech).

The worst book about Capoeira you could possibly buy!

Despite being a very poorly written book about Capoeira, full of mistakes and passages to "capture your imagination" but wrongly displayed, this book was written by a fugitive of Brazilian law. This author goes against everything about Capoeira: honesty, kindness, loyalty.

FORGET ABOUT THIS BOOK: IT'S THE WORST BOK ABOUT CAPOEIRA YOU COULD POSSIBLY BUY!
