Wow

    ## Fabulous. This is the third book of the I-team series and it was my favorite so far. Marc and sophie were amazing together. There was much intrigue and plenty of twists in this story. Mixed with romance and hot sex, this book was perfect! On to buy the next!

    Couldn't put it down

This is the latest book in Pamela Clare¿s I-Team series it¿s book three (if you don¿t count the short story from the series as well in Catch of the Day). In this one the main character is Sophie Alton a top-notch investigative reporter for the Denver Independent and has never had a problem putting her neck or her heart on the line for her story, but this time it just might be fatal to both¿ While Sophie is doing an expose on a young mother in a corrections facility she uncovers much more than she bargained for, but ever the trooper Sophie does all she can to help the young woman get her life together and her story out. Suddenly the young woman (Megan) disappears and Sophie is more than a little worried about her and her now missing child as well. She is surprised when she is asked to come to visit the brother of Megan who is also in prison (for murder without parole). Sophie readily agrees wanting to find out anything she can to help Megan, but when she gets there Megan¿s brother Marc Hunter pulls a gun on her and takes her hostage in his escape. Marc Hunter is desperate man and desperate times call for desperate actions, and to save his sister and her baby girl from the men trying to kill them he will do anything. And that includes kidnapping the beautiful lady reporter that has been trying to help his sister. It has been many years since the last time that he saw Sophie Alton and so many things have changed in both of their lives, its no small wonder that she doesn¿t recognize him. Can Marc convince Sophie to believe him and help him find and save his sister and her child? Can Sophie look past the man he has become and the sins of his past? And will the passion that sparks between them be the very thing that could save them both or will it be the thing that destroys them all? This is one book that is truly one thrill ride after another. It¿s not your average contemporary suspense. The story is both thought provoking, sexy as all heck, and touching beyond belief (I will admit it had me crying more than once and in a good way!) It¿s been a long time since a book touched me this deeply and actually made me take a look at some real issues that I¿d never even considered before. Add to that many twists and turns that will have you guessing to the very end. And if you are like me and have enjoyed the others in the series you get to catch up with many of your favorite characters from the other books! If you love a good story with heart, sex appeal, and suspense I cannot recommend this one highly enough. And while it is part of the I-team series it can stand-alone and it is well worth the time! Pamela Clare is a master at putting you in the story and in the eyes and hearts of her characters. Get this one you will be so glad you did!

    I Also Recommend:

    Unlawful Contact by Pamela Clare

Smoking! "Unlawful Contact" is Pamela Clare's third contemporary about a group of investigative reporters as they find love and danger while searching for the truth. These stories grab you by the throat and you can't put the darn book down until it's over. Fast-moving and packed with thrills and chills...Clare is now a must-buy for me!

Sophie has never forgotten the 'bad boy' she gifted with her virginity. Over the last twelve years, she's had several opportunities to recall the event with fondness and gratefulness for the care he took. Sure, she's imagined seeing him again...but it was never like this!

Marc has spent the last six years in prison serving a sentence of life without parole. He's accepted the choices he made which led to his current situation. Many nights the only thing that gets him through is memories of the sweet girl who gave him her virginity and believed in him when no one else would. He's happy she made something of her life as a crack reporter. But when she becomes the only way to save his sister and baby niece, Marc realizes he'll have to let go of his fantasy girl and accept the disgust he's sure she'll feel when she figures out who he is.

Whew...I think I'm still a bit overheated. This just may be her best I-Team series book yet. Not just because of Marc and Sophie but because we get another look at luscious Julian! The mystery is intriguing, the action is adrenaline-inducing, and the sizzle between the hero and heroine will leave you in a sweat. Now I have to wait until November 2009 for the next one.

    Great

Third in the I-team series and as good as the others, with the added bonus of an unusual and original romance. The thriller was not as developed as in the previous books, yet the plot thickens slowly and you find yourself biting your nails till the end. The intrigue and suspense builds up as the two main characters reunite in the most unconventional way and rediscover their love 12 years later. Beautiful read!

Great book with romance and mystery.

This is a great read with romance and mystery together. Most series connect with the male, while this one is with female co-workers. Also It brings back the characters from the previous books to make the stories even better.

    It wasn't worth the wait

I've loved Pamela Clare's previous novels. Reading this one, I felt like I was reading the same lines/paragraphs/thoughts over, and over, and over again. I found myself skipping through too many pages. Not much substance to this one. I'd have to think twice about buying the next one...

    A reviewer

This is one rollercoaster ride of a book I ran an entire gauntlet of emotions while reading it. I loved the chemistry between Marc and Sophie and the storyline was just plain scary with seemingly impossible odds for them to overcome. Pamela Clare once again uses her incredible talent and real-life experience to thrust the reader into a world that is all too real, and a plot that could be ripped from the headlines. All wrapped in a disturbing and absorbing story that takes you deep into the realm of desperation, betrayal and the abuse of power... And out the other side. Sophie isn't your typical simpering heroine, she's a fascinating blend of innocence and passion, strength and weakness and while I was upset by some of her choices, I could still understand them. I totally adored Marc he's all male, exuding masculine strength and sensuality. He's no-nonsense tough, sexy as ALL get-out, and 100% devoted to his woman and his family. Pamela steams it up with very hot, passionate love scenes, and you'll want to swear, cry, laugh, and cheer. Don't miss this latest, highly intense installment in the fabulous I-team series!

    Pamela Clare does it again!

Set in Colorado, smart girl Sophie Alton has never believed Marc Hunter was a bad boy. Marc saves her from some meth heads and they spend a night of passion together. But they have to go separate ways. Marc has joined the Army. Sophie becomes an investigative reporter and meets Megan Rawlings who disappears with her baby and jumps parole. Sophie goes to jail to interview a prisoner who claims to have information about Megan. He takes her hostage when he breaks out. She discovers the convicted felon is Marc and he¿s killed someone. Marc¿s mission is to find his sister Megan and her baby. He releases Sophie but finds he needs her help. Reluctantly she provides information and gets charged with possession of heroin when she gets too close to putting the story of Megan¿s disappearance together. Passion rekindles when they work to find Megan and clear Sophie¿s name. Marc reminds her they have only now since he will go back to prison or be dead when he¿s captured. Sophie realizes she will have a broken heart if they do. This fast paced story left me breathless. I don¿t know if I took a breath the whole time I read it. I found my self rooting for a felon and thinking I shouldn¿t. How on earth will this get resolved? Make sure you have time to read the whole book when you start. You won¿t want to put it down. one sitting action-packed thriller

In 1996 Grand Junction, Colorado Sophie Alton and Marc ¿Hunt¿ Hunter attended a high school graduation party and ended up spending a night of lovemaking that neither forgot, but both moved on rather different paths. Twelve years later Sophie has become an investigative reporter while Marc became a convict.----------- A dozen years later, the journalist¿s latest story for the Denver Independent involves the disappearance of parolee Megan Rawlings and her baby Emily that leads Sophie to the missing woman¿s brother Marc. He pleads with her to find his sister and his infant niece and take them to safety, something he cannot do it since he is serving time. Marc also knows if he ever gets his life straightened out he will pursue Sophie as he concludes he has always loved her since that incredible evening and always will.------------- This is an exciting fast-paced romantic suspense thriller that never decelerates from the moment that Marc invites Megan to the Colorado State Penitentiary to interview him about his sister. Readers will join Sophie on her search for the missing females while twists add to the overall entertainment. Fans will join Sophie on her hunt in this one sitting action-packed thriller.----------- Harriet Klausner
