Excerpt:

I pressed my mouth to his in a hungry kiss. Our masks smashed together awkwardly. I pulled mine off and tossed it carelessly across the room.

“Your turn,” I said, moving my hips beneath his. “Let me see you.”

“No.”

Before I could protest, he kissed me again. His strong tongue pushed through my lips roughly, swirling around my own tongue. I sucked at him, treating our kiss like a blowjob. He moaned into my mouth. His mask scratched my face. The texture of it was maddening!

I pulled away from him, frowning. Raising up onto my elbows, I stared at him. Each possibility ran through my mind. I knew he wasn’t ugly. I could see enough of his face to determine that. What was it then? Could he be someone I’d known once, maybe a boy from school? I quickly tried to recall all the boys I’d gone after (whether successfully or not) and the ones who’d gone after me. He moved forward, positioning himself over me again. “You’re better off not knowing. Trust me.”

“But why?”

“Because…” He hesitated, looking down at me. I could see the faintest sliver of his eyes through the holes of the mask. His jaw was set in a grim expression.

God, he was so familiar!

“Because you’d never forgive me.”

I blinked, startled. “Why?” What could possibly have made me so angry?

“Cara, please.” There was genuine worry in his voice. “I want you. I’ve wanted you for the longest time. You like this, don’t you? Why ruin it?”

I touched his chest lightly, hoping to comfort him. “It won’t ruin it, I promise. I swear. I’ve never wanted anyone like this before. Whatever you look like, whoever you are¸ I’m not going anywhere.”

He stared at me for several moments in heavy silence. Then, sighing, he raised his hands and pulled off the mask, revealing a face I knew all too well…
