Overview

Psychology student Ashlyn Drake's neat, orderly life takes a turn for the crazy when she finds the perfect subject for her amnesia thesis – a young man without any memory of his previous life, including the murder he's accused of committing.

Against all common sense, Ashlyn's drawn to him like a moth to a flame. Perhaps it's that he's so incredibly male, and even handcuffed to his hospital bed he could pass for a cologne ad – Scent de Insanity. Or perhaps it's because she's spent too many lonely nights studying. Either way, she's determined to help him solve the mystery of his past. She begins to unravel who he was before, using his cryptic tattoos, and his paintings that scream of a dark past as her only clues. When she finally learns his secret there's no telling which one is the real him, the gentle lover she's fallen for or the troubled man with a dark past.

## I can't understand the great reviews. I didn't really care for this book. At the beginning of the story, after Logan and Ashlyn met, we didn't get to experience them getting to know eachother. The author just described " After working with Logan for 2 Weeks"....we weren't in on their conversations to develop a connection. Also, if any man said to me (amnesia or not) "while I was inside of you, I thought of this other woman" he would be kicked to the curb faster than last weeks' trash. He kept hurting the heroine over and over and she just kept taking him back. I truly despise a weak heroine. And the epilogue was awful. All it did is raise more questions. Ugh. Reading this felt bad and now I just feel cheated.

I devoured this book in one sitting. Aiden/Logan was hot, and Ashlyn was the perfect girl for him. Call me crazy, but their love story was kind of hot, and so not the norm. Meeting in a mental hospital-suspect in a violent crime. Yikes! This story was hot and unique. And Liz cracked me up at the end.

So much mystery surrounds this story and it could have gone in many directions but I am glad Ashlyn and Aidan's story went the way it did, it was more "realistic". We saw a smidgen of Aidan's alpha side and I would have loved to see more , but that's because I am a sucker for the alpha male. I am glad Ashlyn didn't chicken out and stuck with her gut. I was so scared when the roommate hinted at Aidan being abusive, phew so happy that Logan was a druggy instead! I wish there would have been more about why Aidan had the Latin tatoo? So much was made of it that understanding why he got it would have added to the story. The happy ending made the story worth the read. Liz is hilarious so I can't wait to read more about her in the next book. This was a great first book for a new author, thank you Ms. Ryan!

Unravel Me is the first book in Kendall Ryan's Unravel Me series. This is the first book I have read from this author and it won't be the last! I really enjoyed this story, despite the unethical behavior of the female lead. As noted in the book's synopsis, the female lead Ashlyn Drake is a psychology Ph.D. student looking for a research subject for her thesis on amnesia. Her mentor directs her to a patient who is suffering from dissociative amnesia. He is hospitalized after being found unconscious at a murder scene, which he is under arrest for. Ashlyn has no fear and her work with him becomes very relaxed and friendly...and the book is called an adult romance for a reason! Obviously this is pure fiction or else someone could pick it apart with how wrong it all is, but for the sake of enjoying an unconventional steamy romance, it was great! My only complaint is that it felt that something in the story was missing, but this was probably just because of the short length and also because I wasn't ready for the story to end! I'm going to check out other books by this author for sure! My favorite quotes: "Logan with no memory of his own life was teaching me how to live in the moment and enjoy what you had." "How do you take your coffee?" He shrugged his shoulders. "No clue. Surprise me."

Loved this story, read it straight through. I've read several Kendall Ryan books and haven't been disappointed yet. These are quick reads, filled with romance, great sex, and surprisingly good storylines. Some of which are quite unique. I highly recommend this and all her books. S.A.K.

As posted on The Smutty Kitty reviewed by Kinky Kitten 3.5 out of 5 Licks The synopsis for this story is what originally caught my eye so I was very intrigued to see how it would play out. At moments it was slow moving and the time line could get a bit confusing, but overall a good story. What it lacked in plot it made up with great chemistry. This wasn't an off the bat sexy read, it was more of a build up between the characters like a slow burn. "Logan" (she starts calling him that because one of his tattoos is the name Logan) was too afraid to get close to Ashlyn in case he remembered that he had a family waiting for him and Ashlyn even knowing that she shouldn't get involved for that very reason plus he was also part of her amnesia thesis. Despite that she couldn't help herself from being drawn to him. There wasn't much conflict within the story. I did find myself bored a bit at their routine. Logan was staying with Ashlyn because he had nowhere else to go and it became very domesticated. He would cook and clean and they would both work then go to bed. He would have nightmares and she would comfort him. Wash, rinse, repeat. There was just a lot of repetitiveness. I would have loved to have had more character development and delve deeper into Ashlyn's past. There was a lot of referring back to her childhood and how it wasn't that great. But it did keep me guessing about Logan til the end. So my only real problem was I wish there was more detail. But the sex scenes were very hot and Logan is a definite panty dropper. He's that alpha male but in the quiet intense way.
