Editorial Reviews

Angela L. Barber
Required Reading Before Any Cruise: I think this should be required reading before going on any cruise. This book will open your eyes to all kinds of things that can happen on a cruise, from dirty rooms to disappearance at sea. There are a surprising number of crimes, most especially sexual assaults, that frequently happen on cruises that are rarely prosecuted and often covered up.
Don. E Rainwater
Cruise Tips That May Save Your Life: Just got back from a cruise and wish I had read this book before I went. The cruise industry makes everything look so functional and organized, when really it is just a coverup. The author really exposes the down and dirty of the cruise business and how money overcomes the need for common sense.
If you are planning a cruise this is a must read to not only protect your vacation but to protect you and your families life.
Kristina N. Fountain
Must-Have for Anyone Planning a Cruise: This is a book that offers a unique yet much-needed take on the cruising industry. Written by a maritime lawyer, the book concisely explains how to protect yourself from the dark side of cruising, including assaults, stalking, scams and the norovirus. It also explains how the cruise industry will not protect you. In fact, many horrible things happen on cruise ships every day, but they get swept under the rug.
Max D. Puyanic
Real Wake up Call: We are planning a cruise this summer and I bought "Unsafe on the High Seas" in order to assess the risk of cruising in light of the fact that we are taking our entire family. Although I am still looking forward to the cruise, reading this book was a real wakeup call about the inherent risks which I will share with my family members before they get on board.
R. Malove
A shocking look at the truth of the cruise ship industry!,I have to say, if I was planning on taking a cruise anytime in the near future this book was enough to make me think twice about it! From the truth about labor to the sanitation issues faced by passengers while on board, this book takes all of the hype out of taking a vacation on the high seas and gives passengers some great ideas on how to keep themselves and their loved ones safe. I'd say this is a definite must-read.

Excellent Practical Information To Read Before Your First (or Next) Cruise!

Unsafe on the High Seas provides the reader with the exact type of conversation they should have before embarking on their next cruise - telling horror stories of what has happened to the author's past clients and others. The information is provided in a concise and easy to read format which can be reviewed in a couple of hours. A must for first time cruisers - this information will provide you with a wealth of practical knowledge not otherwise available to people other than cruise insiders who may have seen the 'other' side of cruising. It is an equally important read for the veteran cruiser, who has been fortunate enough not to have seen or heard about some of the horror stories of when something goes wrong during a cruise. The author takes great care in not trying to talk the reader out of taking a cruise; rather, he just wants the reader to be well informed and cautious while cruising. I would guess that someone who reads this book and follows its advice is far less likely to become a victim of a cruise incident or accident.
