Avery Aster is a fun author to read! In fact, fun is not enough

Avery Aster is a fun author to read! In fact, fun is not enough to describe her work. Unscrupulous took me by complete surprise - and that is rare.
I found some parts ridiculously funny, outrageously naughty, sexy, but at times, deeply poignant. Quite an unusual blend. Some of the outrageous parts seemed a little tongue in cheek, which added to its allure. But, I don't think this is a book for everyone. For some, they may not be able to see past the shocking, over-the-top and perverse characters, domineering Hero, and erotic sexual elements. For others, this will become one of their favorites.
If you have read the synopsis, you will know the basics of the story. I loved the banter between the characters - it was well written, amusing and upbeat. Warner and Taddy's journey was emotional, sizzling and heart wrenching. Their first meet, hello 'Big Daddy': Be warned - unexpectedly and breathtakingly hot. Just a precursor for the first sex scene too. Gulp!
Apart from the wonderful laugh out loud moments, there was inspiring attention to the deeper aspects of the story too. That was impressive. I particularly appreciated the time dedicated to Taddy and Warner, providing sufficient story to know each character well, and establish whether they would suit each other. Well crafted, well paced. Character development -- fascinating, and compelling.
If you can read past the ostensibly superficial, I think you will find characters who you will love. Although most situations were wrapped up nicely, there were a few loose ends left, but I think it was done intentionally, but not in a way that will frustrate the reader. Well done Avery Astor, well done.
Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read Unscrupulous in exchange of an honest review.

I just finished the second book in the Manhattanites series by Avery Aster. In Unscrupulous Ms. Aster gives us the background story of Taddy Brill one of the Manhattanites that I first read about in the  Undressed.  This story takes us back in time before Undressed, and shows us some background on all the characters.

Taddy has lived quite the life, she has major issues with her parents, and we find out just how horrible her teenage years were. I felt for this young woman, whom despite her parents influence created a very successful business and has friends that are way more loyal then her own family.

Taddy meets Warren Truman, her Big Daddy, but a few things stand in their way. They go their separate ways and then are lucky enough to meet up again. I liked the story line of their reunion. The bond these two share is very strong  instantly. The scenes between Taddy and Warren are really hot, spicy, and steamy.  Their attraction to each other is flammable from the from the start.

Warren has been through a lot in his life as well. When he lost his wife, he dealt with the pain by working hard. His hard work has paid off, he now has a very successful business and is quite wealthy. He doesn't like to be the center of public attention so there some mystery with this gentleman.

I have to say one of my favorite supporting characters in this book was Kiki. I loved how she is so innocent, yet works for Taddy who is anything but innocent. I thought this made for some really humorous scenes.

I enjoyed this book, there was quite a bit of drama, lots of steamy scenes, some humor, and some lovely scenes that show just what true friends will do for each other.

I look forward to the next book in this series to see what Ms. Avery has in store for us next.

I received this book in exchange for sharing my thoughts with you. As always it has been my pleasure to share my thoughts on Unscrupulous with you.

Unscrupulous by Avery Aster is a modern day romance. Erotic romance!  Very hot and steamy. Can I just say OMG! Not meant to be read by  readers under 18. Avery Aster has created a very unique and fun world.

Taddy Brill has created a family of her best friends. For someone who had it all and lost it, she is very loving and compassionate instead of being bitter. She has built her company and made a fortune without the help of her parents. On vacation she falls for Warner Truman, one of the richest men on earth.  Taddy and Warner are two Manhattanites who work too long and too hard and play the same way! When they finally connect they realize they are meant to be together!

A great read I highly recommend and can’t wait to read all of the other books in this series! Sorry this review is so short but I am in a hurry to start reading Undressed now. (Who needs sleep?!?) LOL At the rick of repeating myself...Great Book!

It was interesting how this story developed between the two characters, the attraction between the two was intense at first meeting but there were some misunderstandings, some drama in there own lives to deal with. Was interesting to learn the characters backgrounds that made them into what they were. It was easy to relate to the characters.
Taddy wow what a strong woman that hasn't has a very loving upbringing but she is strong, independent, giving, caring person, has some great friends and seems to have it all apart from a loving intimate relationship.
Warner hasn't had a bad upbringing but has had his own share of loss and betrayal but he is more open to loving again. I loved Taddy's nickname for him "Big Daddy" also loved the insight into how he was thinking and feeling also the way he tried to get through to Taddy and his ways to get her to talk.
UNSCRUPULOUS is raunchy, fun, witty and erotic with steamy sex scenes, interesting plans with great friends and a guy who knows what he wants.

I received a copy from the author for my honest review, so here it is. This story has it all, a beautiful, independent, wealth, head-strong, take no prisoners women and a sexy billionaire. Taddy has her friends from Undressed, Lex, Blake & Vive to help her through her life with their unconditional love that she did not receive from her parents. While on a weekend getaway, Taddy, Lex and Vive head to St Barth for a little relaxation and fun. When Taddy and Vive wind up at a club Taddy meets Garner, or so she thought. Turns out the sexy man she meets is none other than Warner Truman, billionaire. Warner lost his wife to bone cancer and his ex-fiance was nothing more than a gold-digger, trying to trap Warner into marrying her. Taddy separated from her parents at 17 and has built herself a fantastic business and she thinks that finding love with a man is not in her future. After five months of meeting Warner, Taddy goes to Cannes Film Festival to rescue Kiki, her assistant, she come face to face with him. Things heat up between them again and she is scared to let her feelings show. Afraid that he will hurt her in the end. Her mother comes back into the picture and wants her successful rich daughter to take care of her, I would have told her to take a flying leap, Warner goes with her to see her mother and lets Taddy lean on him, just what she needed. This story will have you laughing and having a WTH moments. It is full of hot and steamy sex scenes. Great job Avery Aster, looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Avery Aster did an excellent job defining and developing her characters up front. She explains each who each character is and how they relate to Taddy in this story. I felt like I got a glimpse into the NY Fashion Industry and what life is like for a Manhattanite. This book has some really hot and steamy scenes that are not for the faint of heart. I fell in love with the alpha female lead Taddy aka Red. She is a hot shot businesswoman that knows she wants and how to get it but she also has a sweet and caring side that she keeps hidden and only unveils to her closest friends. When she meets Warner aka Big Daddy sparks start to fly. Not only is he her match in business but has the rock hard body and dominant nature that she does not know that she needs.

Taddy is just what Warner needs and he knows it but can he convince Taddy to take a chance on him?

On this adventure you get to meet all of Taddy's crazy friends and colleagues as she spins bad PR into future business.

Will Taddy let down her defenses and let herself fall for Warner, or will she chase him away? Take a chance with this story and find out.

    Hot! Very Hot!

Unscrupulous by Avery Aster proves that somewhere, there is a special someone for everyone, no matter how damaged or independent you are. Learning to give and take can be, well, HOT, very HOT! Being at the right place at the right time, stars aligning, who knows, but Taddy and Warner have chemistry that neither can deny, but their pasts are a huge roadblock to total bliss. Can they overcome these obstacles and put together a relationship that sizzles outside the bedroom?

Avery Aster must have a heat proof keyboard to have created such intense and detailed “ intimate scenes” because my Kindle was overheating! Her writing style is fresh, intimate and her words fly off the pages with bits of humor, some “past angst” and tons of sensual sexuality!

Feed your guilty little reading pleasures with Unscrupulous, it’s almost as good as being able to eat unlimited desserts without gaining an ounce!

Taddy has been on her own since she was a little girl. She built her own company from the ground up. She never thought about settling down with one man because she was afraid to love. She also buried herself in her work so that she really did not have enough time to work on a relationship with anyone let alone date anyone. She just ever thought that one night with her friends would change her entire life. It would change her outlook on love and romance.

Warner has built his resort and spa hotels from one to a few hundred all over the world. Because he lost his wife years ago he did not want to fall in love again. He was completely afraid of getting hurt again and losing the woman he loved again. He just never thought that being out in one of his clubs he would find the one woman he would change his outlook for. He wanted to be with that woman for as long as he could.

I loved that I had the opportunity to read this book. I was amazed by the first book and couldn’t wait to read this one. I was not disappointed at all. In fact I like this book a lot better than the first one in this series. The author has a way of just sucking you into her books from the very first paragraph. She is an amazing author. The sexual scenes that were written in this book made me want to fan myself as read them. They were that hot and steamy.

I highly recommend this book to those readers who fell for the first book in this series; you will not be disappointed in this book at all.

Wow! I went in to reading Unscrupulous for some fun. And I wasn't disappointed! Ms. Aster created some fabulous characters and used the backdrop of the city that never sleeps. I had a hard time putting this one down!

Unscrupulous, although the second in the series, reads as a standalone. It centers on Taddy Brill, a self-made millionaire and founder of Brill, Inc., and Warner Truman, self-made billionaire and founder of Truman Enterprises. These two characters have been avoiding the opposite sex for quite awhile. They each have their own very valid reasons but a chance encounter leaves them longing for one another. A misunderstanding causes Taddy to want to keep her distance but fate seems to intervene. And when they meet again, Warner doesn't plan on letting Taddy get away.

What I loved most about Unscrupulous is the strong, independent women, especially Taddy, that populate this story. That Taddy built her empire on her own is astonishing and inspiring. She's a cutthroat and savvy businesswoman and I admired that quite a lot. And then, there's Warner with his quiet strength. Oh, Big Daddy! He's intelligent and determined - and apparently capable of giving multiple mind-blowing orgasms! :)

Other members of the cast - Lex Easton, Vive Farnworth, Blake Morgan, even Kiki all added such vibrancy to the story. I'm very much looking forward to reading more about all these characters. Lex and Vive, Taddy's best friends, are also brilliant and successful businesswomen. There are no shrinking violets in this group!

Unscrupulous isn't without its poignant moments. We get to see the serious and tender sides of Taddy and Warner. I liked this as it added depth to their characters and their relationship. I also liked that Ms. Aster provided back story throught flashbacks. I appreciated this knowledge of all the characters.

The most fun reading, though, was the intimate moments between Taddy and Warner. These two sizzled together and getting a glimpse of their internal dialog was usually giggle-inducing. I mean, Taddy's nickname for Warner is 'Big Daddy', for goodness sake! :) And how many of you have heard of vajazzling?!?

There is a bit of a Sex and the City feel here but it totally worked for me. There isn't a cliffhanger, it ties up nicely, but I hope to get more from this couple as the series continues. I will be reading Undressed as soon as I can, where I'll get a deeper look at Lex.

Thanks, Avery, for giving me a good time! ;)

Avery Aster really surprised me with this book. I had my eye on Undressed but hadn't read it yet. Boy was I surprised. (In a good way!) This story follows Taddy Brill and Warner Truman. Both characters are at the top of there game. Both have mastered the business world but their personal lifes not so much. Taddy has not had an easy life. Her parents are totally messed up. I can not even image the hurt that she has carried around for years because of them. Her friends have taken on the family role and I absolutely adored each and everyone of them. Warner had a relationship blow up in his face. The woman he was engaged to was a complete and total fraud. How do you get over that and trust again? Warner and Taddy happen upon each other on New Years Eve. By happen I mean they totally burned each other up in crazy hot lust at a club. On their way back to Warner's, Taddy makes some assumptions about him and they haven't even really gotten each others names. Months later ugly circumstances put Warner in a place to help "Red" out and he can't help but want to get to know her.

Taddy's and Warner are an explosive couple. I have never been to New York and can only imagine what being a Manhattanite would be like. Everything is much larger in New York including the language. I can't wait to start Undressed even though it was the first book.

Thank you Avery for recommending this to me. I can't wait to read more from you. I like creative dirty mind!

Unscrupulous is a tantalizing tale from start to finish. The no holds bar writing style of Avery Aster is direct and brutally honest making the sexual encounters a delectable treat.

The main characters Warner Truman and Taddy Brill spend the first 3rd of the book apart but when they finally get together the encounters are combustible.

In my opinion Avery Aster hits all the marks in making a fantastic erotic story,Unscrupulous not only had panty melting sex but a fabulous story line to boot.

Wow, what can I say. Late night for me last night stayed up to finish reading this.

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This my honest view-GET THIS BOOK, LOCK YOURSELF AWAY AND DONT COME OUT TILL ITS READ.

What can I say although this book has come out after Undressed this is a prequel, either book can be read in order or stand alone. When I read undressed my view of Taddy was that she was aloof, hard, protective towards her friends. Its only when you read Unscrupulous you get to understand why Taddy is the way she is. I love Taddy.

The story starts with a cast of character's and companies involved I liked this as I did in undressed it gets you to know whose who. At the beginning the story is set fifteen years before the present day. We get to see Lex, Taddy and Warner when they are younger and their relationships from when they are kids with different people. Taddy's relationship with her very rich parents or lack of, she has more of a relationship with her butler. We understand why she is the way she is. We see both Lex and Taddy's relationship with each other and how protective they are about each other, and see them get sent to The Avon School were they meet Blake and Vive. We meet Warner as a 17 year old boy and the relationship he has with his future wife, Jacqueline.

We get to present day and Taddy owns Brill Inc. A fortune 500 company and New yorks Public Relations company. Which is super successful, she has tons of employees - one being Blake. Vive has her own Company Debauchery Magazine. And Lex has Easton.

Taddy and Warners relationship starts in St Barts years later, one night they meet but ends when they get back to his place when his ex-fiancé turns up.......

I loved this series, it was funny, Super Sexy and hot. I loved the vulnerable side to Taddy. I Adore Warner. My Favourite Quotes

" Little dots, sorta reminding me of the sprinkles Lex puts on her Haagen-Dazs"

" Its not my intention to be a Diva. It just happens. I wake up like I'm flipping Beyoncé or something"- Taddy Brill, CEO of Bill Inc.

" I use to strive to live my life for happiness, not money or status. I don't know what happened or why I stopped." - Warner Truman, CEO of Truman Enterprises.

I received an e-book of Unscrupulous from the author in exchange

I received an e-book of Unscrupulous from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Here goes my honest review. HOLY MOTHER OF GREEN GRASS this book is fanfrankingtastic!! Okay so I censored it a little...but seriously, it's awesome! Before the opportunity to read this book fell into my lap I had been looking at Undressed (The Manhattanites #1) for a while. One minute I thought I'd read it, the next I wasn't so sure. I mean, Manhattanites? It didn't seem like something I'd really relate to (I'm not much of a city girl). Then I read the blurb for Unscrupulous and it sounded a little more like something I wanted to read, but I still wasn't sure. Come on the heroine's name is Taddy Brill. (I should add...Taddy's name is perfect!) Then...then I agreed and I started page one and I didn't sleep until I'd finished it! No seriously, I read this in one sitting. It's that good!

And different. Don't expect a meek heroine. Taddy Brill is high maintenance and knows EXACTLY what she wants. Once she figures it out, she'll stop at nothing to get it. Even a hottie like Warner Truman. Who by the way is hottie millionaire times 1000. At first I thought Taddy was over the top, but then I learned who she was on the outside didn't really match who she was on the inside. That's when she became one of my favorite new heroines. Not because inside she's less high maintenance, but because Taddy knows how to be real to herself and get what she wants without compromise.

Warner Truman is awesome. He's as stubborn as Taddy. But here's the thing...this is Taddy's book. The fact that Warner doesn't mind that, makes him almost perfect. I know, I know, he's fiction. But come on...can't a girl dream?

So when you buy Unscrupulous, and you will because you don't want to miss this one, you're going to get a really good story. There's plenty of humor. A whole lotta sexy. And a hero and heroine you'd love to meet in real life (at least I would).

I read out of order again, but this time I had to read out of order because once I read the description of Taddy and Warner’s book, I knew I needed to read their story first.  First off, Taddy is a red head and well…I am a red head.  =)  She’s also a highly motivated character…especially when it comes to making her mark in the world.

When I began reading Unscrupulous, I knew I was warned ahead of time about the sex scenes by Avery…but let’s just say, I was not prepared for Taddy’s fiery dominant side in the bedroom.  In fact, she is probably the first female character, who has actually ever surprised me.  She definitely knows what she wants and when she wants something, she will eventually get it.  I was surprised when, she did manage to hand over the reigns of dominance to Warner, but it took her awhile.  She was just not used to it…but she needed someone like Warner to guide her.

This book is definitely very erotica with just the touch of storyline to it.  There are a lot of hot moments between Warner and Taddy and there are also the dramatic moments.  You will probably want to help Warner out a few times since he gets himself into some very sticky situations.  Taddy actually gets him out of one of those situations.  Oh boy…did he have one very heated, steamy, difficult situation to get out of with his hotel business.  I’m surprised he did not go into hiding or hurt someone.

If you enjoy books with a very sexy billionaire, who is dominant in every way and a female character, who is just as driven, and has gone through a lot in the past…then you will enjoy this book from Avery Aster.

The only reason I am not giving it full five moons is because of one character, who I did not like in the process of it all…and that was Taddy’s mother.  Oh boy…she struck a nerve with me with what she did to Taddy.  HOW DARE SHE.  Her only daughter and she wanted to do that to her, due to her husband at the time finding out the truth.  Taddy needed her…but in the end Taddy made her mark without her parents help at all.

I look forward to reading the next book in this series and also reading the first book.
I give this book 4.5 moons and recommend it to contemporary erotic romance readers out there. Be forewarned…if you do not like very erotic sexual scenes this book may not be for you…but if you do…be prepared for some cold showers after each scene or at least have some ice cold water next to you to cool down with.

I received a complimentary copy of the book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Unscrupulous totally captivated me right from the beginning. Taddy and Warner are the perfect mix of sexy and glamorous. There were so many moments that I think I lost my ability to breath. The sexiness, the intensity, and the outright eroticism, blew me away. What made it even better was the laughter. At times I laughed so hard that my sides hurt.

Taddy is a very successful women. She is the CEO of her own Public Relations firm, one of the most successful in New York. She has always been okay living each day at a time and not worrying about relationships. Then she meets Warner Truman. Warner is sexy, rich, and not afraid to go after what he wants-and he wants Taddy.

This story is a hilarious and sexy read that will make you want to watch Sex in the City reruns and imagine The Manhattanites. If you are new to Avery Aster’s work you will be enchanted by her characters, laugh like you have never laughed before, and fan yourself when things get steamy!

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Wow! Avery Aster takes a no-holds barred approach with her writing giving us an incredible ride with Unscrupulous which is laugh out loud funny. I learned some new things with Unscrupulous – hello 'vajazzled'. Taddy Brill is a strong, independent female that had to take charge of her own life at 16 when her parents abandoned her. I marvel at her strength and determination. She has surrounded herself with a new family – Lex, Vive & Blake – her friends from school that have formed a bond so that each other knows the others will always be there. A chance encounter at an exclusive club brings Taddy into Warner Truman's universe only she thinks he is Garner and that he is cheating on his fiancé/wife. Several months later at a police station in Cannes, Taddy and Warner cross paths again only this time Warner isn't going to let Taddy go. Can Taddy push through her abandonment/unloved issues from childhood to truly let Warner in? It is so much fun being in Taddy's world – Avery Aster keeps the dialogue clicking on all cylinders as well as giving you pantie melting sex scenes. A great escape that will leave you smiling!

This was a delicious, decadent romp!  I loved it!  All of the characters are completely over the top but not so far that you don't love them
every step of the way.  This story could have easily gotten lost in the glam and glitter but it doesn't.  This story has so much heart,
you truly feel the pain that the characters experience and you cheer all the way through for them to find their happiness.
The story doesn't drag you down, the pain is laced with all the fun and hilarity that this completely insane group of Manhattanites
    can cook up!

A treat to be devour in a wink!

The tone is direct, the sexual expressions are succulent and the characters are a treat. A great cocktail to spend a good night with a book!
    I also laughed a lot.
There is a little bit of "Sex in the city" in the style but much more sexy trash. A serie that will awaken your ovaries!

After the fashion world with Lex, here the reader is immersed in the world of public relations with Taddy.
Placed just before the story of told in "Undressed", this volume provides details about the past of the characters and how the friendship between Vive, Blake, Lex and Taddy was formed.
If the volumes can be read separately without problem, the combination of the two volumes reinforce the impression of meet again a group of crazy friends with whom we will spend a sensational evening. I really appreciate this kind of sensation in a story.

Under the glamorous, sexy and fun side of her tale, Avery Aster has slipped some  substance into her characters. This little knit and affluent group is composed of people injured, who have experienced difficult situations in their past.
Under the superficial side lies people determined to succeed in life, to overcome adversity by having fun, because together, they built a new family on which they can rely on.

With Taddy, the author speaks of dysfunction in the family. The young woman, who was abandoned by her parents and requested to be emancipated, has faced some difficult decisions. Also some situations, in which she would have had great difficulty to get out if it was not surrounded by her friends.

By fighting adversity, she has become hard as steel and succeed professionally but Taddy drags emotional scars. She needs to feel loved even if she thinks she does not deserve it.
I admit that her desire to be sexually humiliated have cooled me down. I would have gladly booked her for an appointment with a therapist ...
Fortunately, the arrival of Warner in Taddy's life will force her to take risks with her heart and be honest with herself.

Their love story is slow to start even if, it remains caliente! For a long time, the reader witnesses the sexual frustration of Taddy and how the heroin manages to live with it. I will never excercise the same way now! Lol!
Fortunately, there are real sex scene too... The one between Red and Warner in the club in St Barth is orgasmic.
Ultra sensual, it is beautifully written. Besides, now, I will chose my champagne more carefully... Lol!
Warner's need to talk and watch his partner during sex is touching and super sexy too.

And when you least expect it, the author manages to make you laugh. By the expressions used by Taddy in connection with her genitals, the situations in which the characters find themselves. I think of Vive with her herpes one-night stand. Or how Taddy describes her desires or just the sexual aggression she shows. The scene when she is having a pedicure cracks me up! I had an image before my eyes and I could not help but laugh.

It is the mixture of contrasts that makes this serie endearing. The author surprises you by shocking you, touching you, raising the temperature or by opening holes in the shells of her heroes.
Note that the secondary characters are just as colorful. I will be delight to know more about Kiki, especially after the revelations of her presence in the dungeon with Dj Dejon! Lol!
Besides, Sheldon also piqued my curiosity and intrigued me!

Occasionally, there may be delays in the story but never slack period. So by opening this book, you will enjoy a funny, sexy and boiling hot serie. "The Manhattanites" is a treat to be devour in a wink.

Unscrupulous (The Manhattanites #2) by Avery Aster Roman

Unscrupulous (The Manhattanites #2) by Avery Aster

    Romance/Erotic Romance

arc provided for an honest review

I fell in love with this book and the characters almost immediately! The relationships were well developed and the love story seems to flow naturally. Whereas, I felt the love story/relationship in the 1st book of this series, Undressed, was rushed.

I couldn't really relate to the characters personally for the most part, as I'm not very knowledgeable in the fashion business. The New York/Manhattan way of life is foreign to me, but it was really fun getting a glimpse into the lives there! It was easy to relate to some of Taddy's insecurities though.

I have to admit that at first I was kind of disappointed that this book was written as a prequel to Undressed. I was really looking forward to getting a few peeks at where Lex & Masi ended up. Maybe in the next book....
I highly recommend this book! If you enjoy a realistic love story, fashion, and steamy love scenes, this book is for you!!!
