Job security isn't something Addison is all that concerned with.
Death, however? Yeah, death is a major concern.

After Addison finds a nearly-dusted vampire in the garbage outside her building, her ability to stay off the paranormal radar is deader than the vamp. Almost as dead as she'll be if anyone thinks she put him there. Even though she's basically shoving a stake into her own chest, she has no other choice but to get him indoors before he dusts in front of a human. And just when she thinks life couldn't possibly get any worse, she finds out who he is.

As vampire king and Prime to all races of supernatural beings in this zone, Rhyse gets what he wants when he wants it. But after being ambushed, he wakes up chained to a bed with a hole in his chest and, unfortunately, he needs help to discover who tried to kill him. His only ally is his captor, someone unaware she has the power to bring down their entire world.

While a prophesized war brews in the Heights, Addison and Rhyse must decide which carries more risk--trusting someone who could destroy you or trusting someone who could love you?

The Heights not only protects the secrecy of vampires, shifters, demons, angels, and other supernaturals, it protects the humans unaware of the world hidden within their own.

"This book is awesome. I'm glued to my kindle."

It's different than the Hyde series, yet similar in many ways...interesting paranormal story arc, lots of great characters, an absolute to-die-for hero, loads of sexual tension, and just the best banter between the hero and heroine. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!!! If you love Paranormal/UF then this my friends is a JACKPOT!!

This book is not one you will be able to just sit, read and then move on...no friends Lauren makes you think and wonder and plot and scheme and fall in total and complete love with the world and especially a very grumpy vampire!!

I really enjoyed this story. It takes you into a different world that is full of the supernatural. The story will grab your attention from the very beginning and hold it until the very end and leave you wanting more. Thankfully, book 2 is out! All the characters are strong and interesting. I'm a huge fan of this author, and she has never disappointed me.

Unseen, The Heights Vol 1,  Lauren Stewart Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews Genre:  Romance, Sci-fi and Fantasy This sounded intriguing so I delved in eagerly – well, its vampires and I’m always hoping for a new series to love. I’ve kind of mixed feelings about it though. Its a whole new world though that Lauren has created, where the Supernaturals – and there’s all sorts of them – live alongside the humans, but hidden within it, under the terms of an uneasy Treaty hammered out a long time past. Of course just as in our world there’s winners and losers, those at the top live pretty, I’d have said for them its all sunshine and roses but as they’re vamps....well blood and sex I guess, and of course down at the bottom for the seers, humans who died and are reborn as seers, life is pretty grim. They get treated as disposable in a way, have all the dross jobs, no way to work up the ladder, no hope of an improvement in their lives. I guess its this divide, the Treaty itself and the way it all blends yet stays hidden, that took me such a long time to figure out. Then when i finished the book I found a handy glossary at the end. Doh – wish that was at the front, would have helped me with my questions. I really wasn’t sure about Addison at first when she “rescued” Rhyse, it was more a sense of self preservation than wanting to help, but given the way her world works its understandable. Rhyse was an arrogant ar se, and I wasn’t impressed by him as a leader, as the Prime. He had no idea what life was like at the bottom and like most at the top, didn’t really care. The cynic in me says this bit’s really true to life! Then somehow – and I can’t pinpoint where it changed, he and Addison began to feel differently about each other and that’s when things finally start to move on, when the drama stars, and the action begins. I found it really slow, though I did need time to work out how it all fitted together. I liked it much more when something actually began to happen, rather than Addison constantly ruminating on the best way to get Rhyse to die without her actually having to kill him, and how she can ensure no-one knows.... Overall I enjoyed parts of it but found it slow paced and it didn’t really pull me in.  I’d give the second book a whirl just to see how it works out. First books in a series, especially when creating a non standard supernatural world have a hard job to do.   Stars: Four, a good start for a potential interesting series. . This is the 2nd book of Lauren Stewart's I have read, but definitely will not be the last! Unseen was difficult for me to get into trying to determine the 'supers', 'toys' and 'seers', but, not letting that deter me, Lauren Stewart teaches us all a new way of looking at these paranormals. Rhyse and Addison's characters and their personalities are both exciting and fun. I am looking forward to reading the continuation of their relationship in 'Unearthed'. This is an awesome book, well thought out characters with interesting direction with the 'Heights'. And to think that I'm just a 'lowly human'. lol

Well this is certainly a very interesting beginning into this new Lauren Stewart series! After reading her Hyde series I became an instant fan of Ms. Stewart and was very much anticipating this new book and I was not disappointed! I will admit it took me a minute to understand the concept of seers and toys/diversions, the box, etc, but once you keep reading, Ms. Stewart has way of making everything come together rather nicely and that includes all of the 'random' characters. I really enjoyed Rhyse and Addison's characters, I think they compliment each other rather nicely. He's 100% alpha, I mean he is the Prime, and she has no problem telling him to pump his brakes..lol. Their relationship is definitely going to through some extremely tough times but I think they will pull through because they are both strong where the other is weak and vice versa. Great book, awesome characters, wonderful story line and very sexy interaction between Rhyse and Addison...I can't wait to see what happens in book two! SR
