Meet the Author

Kathy, a minister of adult education at a church in west Texas, has been teaching the Bible to adults for more than 20 years. In addition to discipling Christians, she also has an exciting teaching ministry for spiritual seekers and new believers. Actively involved in women's ministry, Kathy is often invited to speak at women's events and conferences. She holds a master's degree in religious education and a certificate in women's ministry from the Canadian Southern Baptist Seminary. Kathy's previous New Hope books include God's Truth Revealed and Before His Throne. Married for 25 years, she and her husband, Wayne, have three children and currently reside in Midland, Texas.

    Strength Building Exercise to Build up Faith

    Kathy Howard once again proves a very capable Bible teacher, leader and writer. In her lastest study book, "Unshakable Faith: 8 Traits for Rock Solid Living."

    With Peter's walk with Jesus at the core of this study, Howard uses a variety of writing exercises to engage readers to consider the strength of their own faith: text, personal anecdotes, questions, journaling, scripture searches and true stories from eight women, who experienced challenges to their faith and came through with a stronger trust in the Lord.

    This book is excellent to use in an individual study or a group study. I must add that the interior design is lovely and calming.

    Grow Strong Faith in Life's Challenges

    The events of life today are enough to cause us to ask questions about who, what, and where we place our faith. In "Unshakeable Faith" Kathy Howard traces the events in the life of the Apostle Peter, showing how circumstances strengthened his faith. I used this book as a study for a group of women representing a wide range of ages and spiritual experience. The study is designed to take readers back to the pages of God's Word to discover for themselves how faith can grow when challenged. Though my group was made up of busy women, the amount of personal study time was manageable, and Kathy writes in a motivational and encouraging way. The faith traits were practical and easily applied to our lives today. "Unshakeable Faith" provided a great launching point for discussion, and we never left without being inspired to change and understanding what steps to take in response to what we learned. I have already been happy to pass on copies of "Unshakeable Faith" and look forward to using it again to build up my own faith and that of those in my life and ministry circles.

    Rock-Solid Bible Study

    Unshakeable Faith is a timely study for 21st Century women living in a world where bad things happen to good people. Kathy Howard helps readers restore and reinforce their faith by looking at the teachings of the apostle Peter whose own faith teetered under pressure, and yet, he became one of the first preachers of the gospel.     Perfectly Designed for the on-the go Woman

    Kathy Howard is a seasoned Women's Leader, a terrific Bible Study teacher, and a great writer. She knows how to drive home a point with no wasted words. She can tell a gripping story about real people dealing with the same issues all of us face in such a way as to give the reader real insight and soul-connection. This 8-session study is beautifully designed for people like me: every day is different in my life and some days I have lots of time to spend in the Word and some days I have to squeeze it in between appointments or flights so this format really works -- I just chip away at each "faith trait" at my own pace and allow the Holy Spirit to take care of the timing! God is very good at making sure I am studying the very page I need exactly when He chooses! The book is lightweight -- not the teaching, but the book itself -- and fits easily into most women's handbags. The format makes it a perfect companion for those "waiting room moments" when you find yourself with 15 minutes to spare. The teaching, focused on Peter's life, will challenge you, encourage you and inspire you to allow God to give you rock-solid faith.
