The book itself is as good as the previous one, Unbroken. However, for me at least, this is NOT a NOOK book. Beginning with chapter 6, the rest of the book is just white lines, no text. And when I tried to review it on NOOK, which is what I normally do, it wouldn't allow me to post the review. I have no idea what's going on with this, but as I don't have this problem with any other book, don't think it's a problem with my NOOK Tablet.

If you are reading this book and the text changes into white lines at chapter 5, here is what you do. For some reason some nook books can't be read if the page theme is dark. If your page theme is on "Night" or one of the other darker themes. Just change it to "Day" or one of the off white themes and the text should appear.

If you are looking for a cheezy romance with a billionaire with lots of sex STOP this novel is not for you. If you are looking for a real to life book filled with love, real situations, disappointment balanced with hope, sadness countered with joy, sassy pre-teens looking to get out of school and the reality of a life filled with struggle in managing PTSD, this is your book. There are moments when i wondered if the author had snuck into my brain and stolen my memories of what a sinle mom raising three children alone is like

I cannot find the words to express what your stories of Anna and Alex mean to me.  Although not as traumatic, we dealt with many of the same issues after Viet Nam, without VA or family support.  At that time the military was working diligently to downplay physical injuries due to agent orange , etc., and had no sympathy, support, or even a name for "invisible" psychiatric problems.  I knew my husband was not the man I married, but had no idea what was wrong, how to make our life better.  The only  thing that  held us together through it was that we had promised each other that if and when we said,"I do",  that it would be forever.  Your two novels , even after all this time,  have given me a better prospective on what we went through individually and as a couple.   I hope that your novels will find their way into the hands of today's military couples and families and that they can gain hope and strength from your stories. Thank you and God bless.

Again, I feel this is the kind of story our children should be reading in school. The public needs to become more aware of what serving our country really means.

I really enjoyed this second book. Alex and Anna stayed together through good times and bad because their love is really strong and I liked new additions a puppy and baby. It was a great romantic book and highly recommend it.

An important book that explains how PTSD affects the soldier and his whole family. Needs some serious editing (misspellings, extraneous words, grammatical corrections).

This book covered the whole family - military personnel and their loved ones! It brings attention to ptsd and the need for treatment and there "ain't no shame" in that! One my friends husband was in vietnam - it took better than two years for him to pull through it but they did it together just like in this book
