The seaside town of Mirabelle, Fla., is the perfect setting for sweet and sensuous romance as a retired airman meets his match with a stunning schoolteacher. High school teacher Melanie O’Bryan is getting ready for the new school year with the help of her friend Bennett Hart, who’s home after surviving a helicopter crash in Afghanistan. As they work on a joint project, Mel senses that Bennett wants more from her than friendship, but his reluctance to act on his attraction just frustrates her. Even after they fall into bed, Bennett is unwilling to fully commit. When tragedy strikes, only time will tell whether their relationship is strong enough to withstand old wounds. Richard’s expert storytelling draws in the reader with affable and complex characters and just the right amount of romantic angst. (July)

Meet the Author

Shannon Richard grew up in the Florida Panhandle as the baby sister of two overly protective but loving brothers. She was raised by a more than somewhat eccentric mother, a self-proclaimed vocabularist who showed her how to get lost in a book and a father who passed on his love for coffee and really loud music. She graduated from Florida State University with a BA in English Literature and still lives in Tallahassee where she battles everyday life with writing, reading, and a rant every once in a while. Okay, so the rants might happen on a regular basis. She's still waiting for her Southern, scruffy, Mr. Darcy, and in the meantime writes love stories to indulge her overactive imagination. Oh, and she's a pretty big fan of the whimsy.

Great love story that made me laugh and cry along with the characters. There were several typos throughout the book though.

## FRUSTRATING. That's how I would describe this book. The author describes everything in great detail. And I mean everything (except for the sex, those were more like wham bam thank you ma'am). Go figure. Way too much description. This book could've easily been 100 pages shorter. But that wasn't the only problem. The hero was awful. He was so hot and cold. He would treat the heroine like a queen one minute and in the next, BAM, he's a complete ass. Everytime he treated her badly she just took it. It drove me crazy. But I hung in there and kept waiting for the big payoff which incidentally never happened. During the last fight he said some very hurtful and unforgettable things and once again she just takes him back with no questions asked. Sorry but she deserved some groveling and much more that a two minute speech on the last page. Won't be reading again.

This book was so cute. I didn't realize that it was in a series until I started reading it but I was easily able to keep up with the plot and the other characters. I think everyone should read this book series

My rating: 4.5 of 5 ¿¿ Since returning injured from active duty two years ago, Air Force veteran Bennett Hart has slowly readjusted to life in Mirabelle, working construction and renovations. He has even started building some furniture and is scheduled to help out at the local high school with a project, something he is looking forward to. He loves working with his hands and he also enjoys hanging out with Mel, the math teacher who spearheaded this project and happens to be a friend.  She's had a bit of a crush on Bennett ever since he helped nurse her back to health, but Melanie O'Bryan isn't quite sure if she is willing to stick her neck out and risk their friendship. Especially since they will be working closely together in her classroom in the near future. If anything happens it will have to be initiated by him, because the signals he is putting out are all over the map.  Mel doesn't have a whole hell of a lot of experience with men, but she knows that when there is one as skittish as Bennett, one wrong move will have him running. Urged on by his friends and unable to suppress his craving for her, Bennett finally makes his move and Mel is cautiously over the moon. It took him long enough and she wants to carefully test the waters. Who is she kidding, her heart was invested long before her mind ever caught up, and Mel knows it. as long as she keeps it to herself because she is quite sure Bennett isn't ready to hear any declarations of love just yet.  For now Bennett is enjoying being with an amazing woman who is doing all kinds of wonderful things for him. In and out of the bedroom. But he prefers not to think too much or too far ahead, he does better when he stays in the here and now. Not something that goes unnoticed by Mel, his holding a big chunk of himself separate. A part of him that he won't let her see. The part that eventually might grow too big and split them apart...... ******** What a wonderful, sensitive, yet quick-witted novel. A story that shows the ease with which we tend to throw up our own barriers when it comes to finding happiness.....it never is something to be found elsewhere or in others. Happiness is always something you have to allow yourself to feel, to be.  The town of Mirabelle and its inhabitants are slowly becoming a familiar backdrop for these stories and we get better a quainted with the group of friends that meander through the series. In the second book we managed to get brief glimpses of Mel and even Bennett, both of whom are taking centre stage now. Although all the stories are loosely connected, they can also be read as standalone novels. As a veteran of war, it is not surprising that Bennett suffers from some form of what might be considered PTSD. Enduring nightmares and panic attacks would be considered part and parcel of the symptomology, as are mood swings, which is something else affecting Bennett. Mel instinctive sense not to push him to hard is probably wise, however frustrating it must be for her. She is not aware of the full effect his experiences in the military have left him with, but realizes it is not something he should be keeping bottled up. However, she is not willing to make herself subject to his push and pull attitude  and has the backbone to stand up for herself, demanding full committment in a relationship.  Shannon Richard writes the third novel in her Country Road Series with again more depth and confidence. I have read, reviewed and enjoyed the previous two books UNDONE and UNDENIABLE and although all were good, this one is at the top of my list. The story and the insightful, yet resilient and upbeat manner in which it is written is an absolute treat! If this growing trend continues for Ms. Richard, there will be a point where I run out of stars ¿A warm, insightful and spunky romance!!¿ **ARC provided by NetGalley and Forever Yours in return for an honest review.**

Bennett really is Mel’s hero. Mel was shot when she inadvertently walked into a robbery in progress and Bennett was suddenly there to help her. He visited her in the hospital regularly. He helped her recover at home. Then after the recovery, he stuck around to share carry-out and his favorite TV shows on DVD. Needless to say, they became close friends. But Mel wants more. She’s been interested in Bennett long before the shooting. His constant attention and their growing friendship have only succeeded in making her crush stronger. Bennet is what I like to call a “slow starter.” He obviously has a thing for Mel. But he doesn’t realize it. It takes a while for Bennett to really figure out anything when it comes to feelings and relationships. Actually it doesn’t take a while. It takes forever. He insists they are just friends even though he is now spending more time with her than his own friends. When he finally realizes that he likes her and wants to start dating, he dives right in. But then begins the painstaking yet amusing process of him realizing the next step in their relation. Five billion years after Mel and all their friends have already figured it out. I might make fun of Bennett but the fact is I absolutely adored him. He tries so hard and succeeds almost every time. And Mel is absolutely lovely. She is one my favorite types of heroines; patient, nurturing, funny and sexy. Together, these two have an amazingly fiery and sexy relationship. Unlike my usual fare, Unstoppable only contains a smidge of angst and temporary heartbreak. This story is full of sexy happiness and good times. I can’t recommend this one enough if you enjoy contemporary romance.

What an amzing book. There was a type of souther comfort and love within the paged. I could not put the book down. I was reading at stop lights, between my classes, and a couple late nights it was over. I can't wait till the rest come out! ** also the person that gave the book two stars is cold hearted because this book shows what true love is all about and the fear lf relationships. Its all about them steam and interesting details.

Unstoppable is the third book in this series by Shannon Richard and I have thoroughly enjoyed them all.  Set in the small town of Mirabelle Florida, Unstoppable, which is a companion novel and can be read as a standalone, is Mel and Bennett's story.  Melanie O'Bryan is a high-school teacher who has always been the more subdued one in her group of girlfriends when it comes to guys and relationships.  She knows how to cut loose and have a good time, but isn't the type of girl to just sleep around.  Bennett Hart was formerly in the Air Force, and has been back in town for a few years now after a serious accident that occurred when he was overseas.  He and Mel are friends, but things begin to become more than that after an event during which Bennett steps up and holds things together for her.  He's not looking for anything more than that because he believes he can't and isn't willing to open himself up.  Melanie on the other hand, would love nothing more than to take things to the next level with Bennett.  After a passionate kiss, Bennett knows he can't stay away from this girl, but when his fears from the past rise up into the present, he choices and actions threaten to destroy everything he has with this woman that he has come to care so much about. I really like Mel's character.  She is compassionate and really cares about her friends, her students, and her community.  She's also a lot of fun, has a tremendous amount of patience, and you'll love her her "I Didn't Kick the Bucket List."  You'll have to read the story to find out more about that.  Bennett is a really awesome guy.  He's hot, sexy, and he's really great with Mel, as well as the teens that she teaches.  He went through a rough time while he was in the service, but Mel brings out the best in him, even if he doesn't realize it himself.  We also get to see the characters from the previous two novels, which was really great also.  The romance was sweet as well as sexy, with just the right amount of steam, and the story itself was one that I enjoyed and kept my attention from beginning to end.  Overall, Unstoppable is an enjoyable, sexy, fun, and entertaining story that fans of contemporary romance will love.  If you haven't read anything out by this author before, I think you will really enjoy her writing and I most definitely recommend checking out Unstoppable and the rest of the books in Shannon Richard's Country Road Series.

Unstoppable was absolutely delightful. It was just one of those types of reads that keeps a smile on your face while you're reading it. I loved Bennett and Melanie was the kind of girl you just naturally feel drawn to.   What worked for me: ~I loved the characters. Bennett and Melanie had great chemistry.  ~The story was sweet.  ~I felt pulled into the whole group of characters. I don't think it's necessary to read the other book before reading this one, but I really want to go back and read the first two books in the series.  ~The steamy scenes were definitely spicy. As I said before, their chemistry was fantastic, so it made those scenes even better.  What didn't work for me: ~I know I just said that this could be read as a stand alone, I really think I would have had a better handle on their back story if I had read the first two books.  Overall, I really enjoyed it. I don't like to compare authors, but this reminded me of a Rachel Gibson type of read. Gibson is a favorite of mine, so I say that with high praise. So, as you can imagine, even though this was my first book by Shannon Richard and it won't be my last. Check it out if you're looking for a sweet read.

Unstoppable by Shannon Richard is an extremely enjoyable contemporary romance, number three in the Country Roads series, it can be read as a stand alone but to understand the history of the different characters I do recommend starting at the first book Undone. Full of romance, steamy love scenes and unforgettable characters these books only get better as the series goes along. Mel O'Bryan is a maths teacher who has enlisted the help of ex-Air Force sergeant Bennett Hart, who has become well known around town for his carpentry skills, for a project building new bookshelves for the schools library incorporating maths into the equation (pardon the pun) to teach kids the importance of maths in everyday life. Both have a crush on each other, but neither is willing to take the first step, Bennett who is still coming to grips with injuries and the loss of soldiers/friends that were lost in a helicopter crash while on duty in a foreign country which subsequently put an end to his career, is adamant that he won't fall in love with anyone to save himself the trouble of losing anybody else in his life, but as much as he fights it he's drawn to Mel and they soon start a  relationship, but you know in these kind of books that it's never smooth sailing, and they will have hurdles to cross and issues to deal with before they both get their happily ever afters. The chemistry between Mel and Bennett is hot, they were so well suited to each other and I was intrigued and absorbed with their whole relationship, egging them on the whole way through. Shannon has a way of making every new book and story in this series fresh and exciting, leaving readers with the need to plow through these books as fast as possible, no matter how many times you tell yourself just one more chapter, before you know it you're finished and you're left wondering where the time went. I can't wait for the next book, I'm eager and anxious to see what awaits these characters who are quickly becoming near and dear to my heart. Highly recommended.

I loved Shannon Richard’s Undeniable, the story of Grace and Jax, and I impatiently waited for the next story. Well-paced and poignant, Unstoppable brings to life a heart-warming friends-to-lovers story that will have readers smiling and sighing and cheering for everything to work out in the end … and impatiently waiting for more. With the “Country Roads” series, Richard has given readers a fantastic group of friends and I can’t wait to see each of them get their happy ending. I really liked the first book in this series, and thought the second book was disappointing. This one was better than the second, not as good as the first. The main characters were likable, bland storyline, mild chemistry. Liked it but didnt love it.
