Overview

After a serious gun battle in which his partner is injured to the point of not being able to work, Jake Wylie confronts the most dangerous criminal he's faced in years. Has Gabriel, a serial killer from his past, returned? Or is this a new villain?

A series of disturbing nightmares plagues Jake, leading him to believe some evil is stalking him. Not an imaginative man, this feeling is new for him.

With his partner unable to return to work, Jake is saddled with a relatively new detective for his next partner. She is a great distraction at times.

Jake also battles his boss, who is determined to get him fired. Jealousy is his main motive.

As nothing seems to work in capturing the new killer, Jake and his new partner, Sheila, find an attraction building between them. One that transcends their work. Jake also begins finding out very disturbing things about himself.

    It was Good

I really liked it. It was about 625 pages. It was a good mystery with a shocking twist @ the end.

    Extreme Serial Killer Mystery.

Dark, bloody, graphic murder mystery with interesting twist regarding a psychopath who hates prostitutes. The reader may figure out the culprit fairly early on yet keep reading to find out more even while wishing to have never started the book in the first place. Mea culpa.

    Predictable

680 pages. There are about 30 pages of unneeded information included in the 680. I had the whodunit figured out in the first chapter. The errata was rife in this book, both punctual and grammatical. The cursing, sex, and violence are extreme. I hate a book filled with cursing. Totally unneccesary. It shows a lack of respect to the readers, a low life, uncouth, ill mannered, uneducated attitude on the part of the author. Surely, he knows better words to use. The ending was abrupt and unfullfilling. This book is suitable for mature, adult readers of both sexes. I did not care for it and almost did not finish it.

    Boring and predictable

By the third page, I had the plot figured out. The author relies on so many superfluous sexual encounters as a plot devices that would leave both hormonally challenged teens and bored housewives disgusted.

The author also tries to emulate the writing styles of others of this genre that just makes this a sad attempt at a mystery-thriller.

    A true gem.

I would have rated this five stars had it not been for several grammatical errors. That aside it was a great read. Edge of your seat, keep you guessing til the end.

    Predictable, lame

Thankfully it was free. So obvious who the killer is. The detectives do nothing to solve the crime the whole story and I find it hard to believe the Lt. Would act like that. Skip it!

    Weird

I liked this book all the way till the end. I dont think that.is how it sould have ended. I kept hoping something would happen between the main characters. I definately think this bok could be improved upon. Also the ending was too abrupt for my preferance. All in all I think if you wanted a good book to read that is interesting, dont read this book!

    Well written

The story had alot of suspense in wondering who the killer was. Then you knew who it was but not how it was going to end. I guess happy endings don't always happen just as in true life they don't.

    Good read

I really enjoyed this story. The author did a good job of keeping me guessing. As you read it seems clear who the killer is but there are several others who could also be the unsub. Because of this I kept reading to find out. I do wish the relationship between Jake and Sheilia was more developed. Overall a great read.
