"I'm sorry," Ethan said.  "I know this waiting cannot be easy for you."

"It isn't easy for you, either," Leah said.  "I keep thinking back to Rebekah's death.  It happened so suddenly.  And with Neil, we've known for months that he was sick, but I'm not any more ready for him to die than I was for Rebekah."

Ethan reached across the table and laced his fingers through hers.  "We cannot change what God has ordained, Leah.  We may not understand why, but even if we knew why, knowing would not stop it."

"It just isn't fair.  And it makes me mad," she said.

Ethan smoothed her cheek with his palm.  "But miracles happen.  You are proof of that."

    great

I read all of Lurlene McDaniels books when I was in high school. I really enjoyed them. I am really glad that I am able to read her books again.
This Trilogy series was wonderful.. it introduced me to the Amish people and I did much reasearch about their lives and traditions.

This book is a must read and the other 2 in the series as well.

    Highly Recommended!!!!

    Fantastically written!

The trilogy story of Ethan's and Leah's relationship. Ethan decides to try his 'english ways' in Leahs surroundings. Basically that's it and Leah is faced with the possiblity loss of her 'father'.Towards the end I cried hard. I only wish there was a fourth-- allowing Ethan and Leah to be together.

I agree with others: a sequel please

Reality, love, life trials, sadness, tears, temptation, strength of morality, love of family, laughter...all of these things form this trilogy. This is fiction for goodness sakes! The ending might have been gut wrenching reality but I would have preferred it to deal with one/or both, of the main characters to love enough to sacrifice in favor of their love. Get them together! Had I known it would end on such a downer I would have pitched the first one in the fireplace and stopped, never to read another page. If I want complete reality, I'll stay with the newspaper. Boy...was I in a purple snit at the end!

'An Excellent story that Shows the Unconditional love of A Family.'

Until Angles Close My Eyes Four Stars ¿An excellent story that shows the unconditional love of a family.¿ I rate this book a number four star rating. This book is very good, but sometimes there were parts that didn¿t keep me interested. Overall, the book was excellent. Until Angles Close my eyes , is a superior book. Leah has just overcome her cancer, when she finds out even more terrifying news. She has just found out her new step-dad¿s cancer has come back. Shortly after, Leah and her boyfriend have a surprise for her parents. Will Leah be able to deal with her step-dad¿s cancer? Much less will she be able to overcome her own? This is a book you defiantly won¿t want to pass up! There are a couple of things that were good, and weren¿t so good about this book. The switching of the narrator to he first person made this book pretty easy to follow. At first the book was sort of hard to follow along with. Eventually though, the story was easier to understand. One thing that wasn¿t as good about this book was that the beginning was a little bit confusing. This book is a part of a series, but anyone could eventually pick up on it. If you are interested in sadder books, then you would probably favor this one. This book is sort of a chick flick, so I think mostly girls would like this book. Overall, I highly recommend this book.

The Books In This Trilogy are My Favorite Lurlene McDaniel Books!

I loved this book, and I'm dying for a sequel although I know that it's a trilogy and the series is done. I just want to know what happened to, I quote 'I will not leave you Leah, I will not.' But if they will never see each other again, what will happen to Leah and Charity's relationship?

    A Great Book

This story is very emotional when Leah has to deal with Ethan leaving and her Stepfather dieing. It explains how deep Leah feels for Ethan when he tells her he has to leave her. I thought one of the best parts was when Ethan found his brother and met his family. This was a great book! I really enjoyed reading it!

    A heartlifting story

i read all three books of the angel series and they were terrific. this one was my favorite out of them and it touched my heart. Lurlene does it again! she is an awesome write for any girl that needs help or just loves to read. it will bring u to tears(like most of her books do anyways) and teaches us we can't always have our way, but we can learn somehting on the fall down.

    This Author is Amazing

I loved all her books, but i think this one touched me the most out of the Angel's Trilogy at least. i think she needs to write another book where Leah and Charity write each other and then somehow Leah sees Ethan again.
