Overview

Sophie Newton is determined to prove herself to her father, who insists she could never run a successful business. She throws herself into her beachside taco stand, The Sandy Tortilla, and makes it her primary goal to show him that he’s wrong, one burrito at a time.

When she loses her summer help, Sophie rushes to find a warm body to help take orders. She finds that body—and what a body!—in Montgomery Winters, a struggling actor from LA. It may not be show business, but Mont figures he can write an order for fish tacos. The money’s dead useful, though he finds it’s the curvy company that really keeps him around.

As Sophie and Mont work together, they discover an intense attraction between them. But when Mont's agent calls him about a career-making audition, he decides he must pursue the opportunity, even though he can't get Sophie out of his head. Now, Sophie must choose between chasing after the man she's falling for and the business she's fought so hard to build.

I really liked the whole vibe of this book. It was kind of fun that Sophie is really a typical Type A, she's driven while running her own taco truck on the beach. But Mont is really your typical beach bum. He can't be on time to save his life and he really doesn't have a typical job to speak of. There is undeniable chemistry between the two for the whole book though. I really liked the plot of this one. I liked the romance angle. It's a clean romance, although I didn't love the way that Mont thought about Sophie in his head. This one was a bit on the line of clean romance for me, it doesn't talk about having sex really, although you know that the characters do at one point. I did like that there wasn't swearing in it. I liked the characters. They were really well written. I liked that Sophie was predictable, to a point, and then I didn't have any idea what was going to come next for her. Mont is a bit of a character throughout the whole book. You don't know his real name, or what he does for a living for a good chunk of the book. He freely admits that he's aspiring to be an actor but the rest of his life is kind of a mystery until he unfolds it. This is a cute book that I really enjoyed reading. I was sent an e-copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

UNTIL SUMMER ENDS was an enjoyable romance with plenty of chemistry between the characters. It was full of small-town charm, friendships, and some sizzling romance. Recommended to readers who enjoy adult contemporary romance. I really loved Sophie and Mont! They were such interesting characters and very different from each other - bringing a nice balance to their relationship. Sophie is so focused on her taco shack and keeping her heart safe. Mont was much more laid-back while taking a break from the LA crowd and waiting to see if he could land a larger role in the film industry. There were so many swoon-worthy and rather humorous moments as well as sweet ones between these two. I also really enjoyed quite a lot of the dialogue between them. The story was engaging the whole way through and, as a reader, I definitely felt the sparks and chemistry jumping off the page. There was also enough tension created by the characters' different dreams and goals as well as their past baggage to keep things from being too smooth. I would have liked the secondary characters to be better fleshed out and for it to have been cleaner, but that would be it. In the end, was it what I wished for? This was a fun read! Plenty of sizzle without it taking over and allowing for some depth to the story. I loved the main characters and the very sweet ending. Content: Innuendo, one closed-door love scene, heavy making out. Source: Received a complimentary copy from the author, which did not affect my review in any way.
