Thailand, the week before Christmas. Sofia Aguiar arrives in the Ocean Pearl to start her four month contract as a cruise ship's doctor.
In an instant she gets absorbed by the small world of the big cruise ships and learns how the industry works, how intensely crew members live their lives and how important good friends are in a place where there is nothing else to hold on to.

I enjoyed the book although I was always looking for something to happen. Thought I had it when there was a storm and then a bomb scare, but it didn't happen. As it said it was about life on a cruise ship, I should have expected just that and nothing more.

It is a good thing this was free! If you want to hear cruises bashed, Americans really bashed...this book is for you. Glad I didn't have to waste money on this thing. Being honest...I could only handle the first 189 pages before I gave up. Maybe it got better after that. I didn't waste my time to find out.
