A friend of mine really loved this one and wanted me to read it. So, I bought it and was looking forward to reading it, because she felt so passionate about it. So, what did I think? I liked it. It certainly kept me on my toes. Leese was a little hard for me to connect with, but I loved "Evan". I had a bit of trouble with the religious undertones, but I've been told that in the rest of the series, it becomes less of an issue, because Leese's views change a bit. I really liked the supporting characters. Ryan is pretty great and I loved Leese's friend Jewel. She made me laugh. And I've been told Ryan plays a bigger role in the next book, so I'm pretty excited about that. I also really liked "Evan's" family. They intrigue me. Bottom line: I liked it and I'll read the rest of the series to find out what happens. I'm definitely curious!  Side note: It needs a new cover. I wouldn't have looked twice at this one if my friend hadn't told me to read it. Quotes: -"Can you believe it?" she asked, but didn't wait for anyone to respond. "It's like the gods are dropping good looking guys from the sky! First Evan and now Ryan-who's going to enroll now? Brad Pitt?"-Loc 675 -"In five weeks, I'm going to put a bullet in you. I've been on a path straight to hell for the last seven years and even though this feels good right now, I'd rather go back to feeling nothing at all."-Loc 2233

Untouchable had a lot of great things going for it. For one, I love romance suspense and it has plenty. Also, the characters were fabulous. Annalisa, is a normal but very rich high school student. Money makes people stupid and greedy, so someone has hired a hitman to kill her. The thing I liked most about Annalisa is that although she comes face to face with the man who is supposed to kill her, and she doesn't falter. She looks him straight in the face and deals with the inevitable, that she is going to die. She also uses the bond between them to her advantage, and gets him to find out who's behind the hit and protect her family. That girl has brains. As for Evan, all around tough guy, has a soft side buried way down deep. Towards the the end he bugged me a bit, got a little bit too weepy but completely redeemed himself in the end. I liked in the beginning you are introduced to two male characters but don't know which one is the bad guy. Made things interesting for a while. This is one of those good fast paced stories that hook you right from the beginning and can't stop reading because the next page just might be even better. Although I listed this as a Mature YA 17+, it does contain violence and sexual scenes. Enjoy!

This book was so much more than I bargained for. It was a romantic adventure if you consider the man you are having the adventure with is going to kill you. Annalisa has a bright future ahead of her at her new school with new friends…and plenty of hot new guys to surround her. I don’t want to ruin any of this book with my review because it takes turns that you just wouldn’t expect. Let me just start by saying, yes, there are two amazingly hot guys in this book, both with completely different intents. One wants to be romantically involved with Annalisa, the other wants to kill her and cash in on his payday as a hit man. I loved this book from the very beginning and learned that things truly are not what they seem. Just when she figures out that someone is going to kill her, she is already in too deep. The question is can she survive and find out why he was hired to kill her or will she go to her grave not knowing? This is the first book in a three part trilogy and I am so excited to start on the next two. Annalisa is forced to deal with so much in this book and she is such a strong character. I have read other reviews of this book that want to classify it as a “Christian Fiction” novel. However, I couldn’t disagree more. The religion in the book is what makes up Annalisa’s character and shows how pure and innocent she really is. It is also the one thing she has to hold onto when she falls in love with her hit man. There is religion in the book, however, there is so much more to this book. This book shows the difference in family dynamics and the lengths families will go to protect each other. The ties of a family are proven so strong in this book. This is a wild and crazy adventure and it gives hope that love truly can conquer all. It is a great read and I loved every moment of it. I am so excited to read the next two in the series to see where the story leads. Lindsay Delagair does a fabulous job with her characters and the story and it left me wanting more. I am so glad I had a chance to read this…

At it's core, this book is about first love and redemption.  Lisse is a wealthy, almost 18 year old student and basically in a modified witness protection program because her mother believes strange things are happening to the family.  Evan (actually Micah) is a 23 year  old mafia hit man who infiltrates Lisse's school in order to fulfill a contract on Lisse's life.  What follows is a tale of Lisse falling for Evan, realizing what his ultimate goal is, and striking a deal with him to save her mother and little sister. The plot moved well, the dialogue was appropriate and the level of detail for certain components (specifically cars, guns and the inner workings/culture of the mob family) was well written.  Micah's inner conflict is described well.  Lisse sees a side of Micah that no one else does and is able to penetrate his facade allowing him to know about and experience true love for the first time. The ending was sweet and the reference to a certain song was brilliant!.  There are strong professions of faith throughout the book that Lisse uses to convince Micah about a higher power and plan for their lives.  Some may be turned off by the frequency and overt references to God. My primary concern about the book is I had difficulty believing that a girl of Lisse's age and social status had the depth of maturity she displayed about several situations.  Overall, I enjoyed the book and felt it was worth a read.
