Liz Curtis Higgs has been telling tales since she wrote her first “novel” at the tender age of ten. Careers in broadcasting, public speaking, nonfiction writing, and children’s books brought her back to her first love–fiction–at the turn of the 21st century.

Since 1986, Liz Curtis Higgs has presented more than 1,500 inspirational programs for audiences in all 50 states as well as Germany, England, Canada, Ecuador, France, and Scotland. In 1995, Liz received the highest award for speaking excellence, the “Council of Peers Award for Excellence,” becoming one of only forty women in the world named to the Speaker Hall of Fame by the National Speakers Association.

Feature articles about Liz have appeared in more than 250 major newspapers and magazines across the country, and she has been interviewed on more than 600 radio and television stations, including guest appearances on PBS/Religion & Ethics NewsWeekly, A & E, MSNBC, NPR, CBC Canada, BBC Radio Scotland, Focus on the Family, and Janet Parshall’s America.

A member of Novelists, Inc., Liz now focuses her writing efforts on historical fiction, particularly novels set in eighteenth-century Scotland.     The REAL Mary Magdalene Has Been Unveiled!

    Liz Higgs has done the research and has unveiled the real Mary Magdalene! Liz Higgs points out in her very thorough book, that Mary Magdalene has been improperly portrayed throughout our history and culture. She has sifted through the tangled mess and has carefully unraveled the many stories that has become Mary Magdalene. Pop culture at it's worst, has made Mary Magdalene Jesus' lover. In one word from Mary's mouth, "Teacher!," the true nature of their relationship is put out front and center! Liz Higgs writes like she's sitting across the table from you talking girlfriend to girlfriend. Her clever modern story that parallels the gospel telling of Jesus' ministry and his relationship to Mary Magdalene is as insightful as it is enjoyable. She brings the times they lived in in full perspective and what the roles of Mary Magdalene, and the other women who followed Jesus were. I found the book to be fascinating as well as informative. You will never see Mary Magdalene in the same way again!

    The Story¿. On an icy Chicago day, Pastor Jake Stauros of Calvary Fellowship sees the desperate mumbling woman in her Goodwill wardrobe struggling to walk so he offered her help. Mary Margaret Delaney pretends to ignore his kindness and just keeps slipping, and incoherently saying ¿Luna¿. Jake truly wants to help her, but wonders how to reach Mary Margaret without a miracle as she acts as if demons possess her mind, and soul. Yet with God¿s help he has assisted several rag tag muffins now part of the Calvary Fellowship. He will continue to pray for Mary Margaret, show her she is not alone, and optimistically hope she will join them. Mary Margaret¿s story is a brilliantly written modern day parable paralleling that of Mary Magdalene so that readers can place a contemporary context on perhaps the bible¿s ¿baddest girl¿..................................... ¿The Study¿. Will the real Mary Magdalene stand up?
