10 Stars - Amazing!

Unwritten was the most beautiful story with a mixture of solitude to the exotic flair. From culture, history, travel, to fishing and rustic life - from pain to happiness and joy. I have read all Charles Martin’s books and this one ranks a 10! From the characters you will grow to love and connect with as their past hidden secrets unfold along with their pain – keeping you engrossed from the first page to the last. Savor each moment – this would make an awesome movie (can already envision the cast of stars). Since I live in South Florida, loved the setting and have made the trip over the bridge many times on Card Sound Road when I lived in Key Largo.

To one of my favorite authors – you have a God given talent and thanks for sharing a part of your life and soul with your readers. The dedication to John, your connection, and inspiration – loved hearing these personal thoughts. A must read for men as well as women!

Trust me...anything that Charles Martin writes is so well written. His writing is clean of smut so if you are looking for that type book, his books are not for you. What of his books do you start with? It matters not for when you read one you then will read another one and another one until you have read all he has written. Then you will wait impatiently for the next book to come off the press.
5 plus stars for author Charles Martin's books!

    Words: Chapter One

Hello, my dear people. My name is Kelsey.
I'm an eleven year old fangirl. Which basically makes me a weirdo.
My classmates are crazy. They don't know what it is to love a story that has changed you. Something that has changed you so much you'll never be the same again.
They don't understand why books are so important to me. If I wasn't a reader I wouldn't be able to face the world. I'd be a scaredy cat. But to be honest? On the braveness scale, I'm right up there with the Doctor and Tris.
I don't even know myself. I don't know what by boggart would be or what would be in my fear landscape. I don't know what the perfect gift for myself is, or what I desire most. I don't know my true house or faction. Why? Because I'm what you could call an everything person. I'm not even close to perfect. Not to mention that everyone thinks I'm crazy. Well, at least the rest of the seventh graders.
So what do you think of me so far? Am I your dream cone true? Your worst nightmare? The person you've been searching for your entire life? I don't know what I am, and i only have one lifetime to figure it out. So I'd best get started.
This is me, and this is my diary of an eleven year old fangirl.

This is the first book by Charles Martin that I read, but it won't be the last. After reading so many mediocre books recently, my initial reaction upon finishing this book is "thank you!" As others have noted, it is an amazing book, kept my attention from the first to the last page, and is beautifully written--without, by the way, explicit sex scenes permeating the paper, as many authors nowadays need to do. I honestly can't wait to read more novels by this author!

    So gifted

Charles Martin is the most gifted writer. His writing digs deep into my heart and stirs my soul, leaving a lasting impression. I always recommend his books to those looking for a good book, knowing they will never be the same.
This world needs more Charles Martins!!

If you have read all Charles Martin's books, read this one. But if not, this isn't the one I would recommend to a friend.

"A movie star hints at her suicide in a confessional and a reclusive writer/fisherman, who gifts children suffering from cancer by giving them books they will love because of their personalities, become main characters in UNWRITTEN. The multiple names of these two characters--Katie, Isabella, Bella, Ma Cherie and Sunday, Peter, Mon Cherie--don't identify them. Their depth, pain and insights do. This book will long be a favorite, one I'll read over and over. I don't even feel I can write an adequate synopsis because it's too raw right now.

Great Book :) Writing is wonderful - I could visualize the characters and the places through his writing. The characters have lots of baggage and their lives were unfolded a little at a time through the book ~ which made me not want put the book down :) Charles Martin is right up there with Nicholas Sparks, Karen Kingsbury, etc. Keep sharing the gift of writing that God gave you. Ready for next book !

I told myself I wasn't going to devour Unwritten the way I'd devoured Charles Martin's other books. I thought I could slow down and savor it, make it last more than a couple of days. I was wrong. Two days, and when I set it down, it was all I could do not to read it again. As always, the writing was mesmerizing. The characters feel like people I'd love to sit down with to enjoy a glass of wine and a chocolate croissant. (I can practically taste the croissant, thanks to Martin's descriptions.) I had no idea where the story was going, and I couldn't have guessed on a bet. As usual, it exceeded my expectations. Another great book by Charles Martin.
