    Hula; Hawaiian Music and Dance

Ancient Hawaiian history is preserved in the minds of chanters, and in the motions of the Hula dance. Some chants have been carried forth into this new millennium and some have been lost to the ages. This book was written by settlers from across the globe, that took an academic look at the mechanics of this great ancient form of expression. History and the arts are wrapped together in this outsiders written account. It was first published in 1909. It includes an extensive table of contents, and it is indexed.
